Was watching a video and a article by some writer at ninersnation saying nick is the run away defensive rookie of the year. Bush is way more impressive than this guy. Random thread I know but it kinda rubbed me the wrong way

    Homerism says Bush, hands down.

Reality says it's too early to tell.

Bush will be able to make more plays this season. (being a linebacker, more time on the field than Bosa, will log way more tackles than Bosa)

No contest, Bush for the win

Even a guy like me who was against the pick will tell ninersnation to pump the brakes. DB55 has been playing better each week, the kid is around the ball a lot and good things happen when you are around the ball. I am all about eatin that crow so come on DB55 I am hungry!!!!!!!

Cannot disagree with those who are in favor of Nick Bosa. Honestly speaking, he was the best pure pass rusher from his class and is living up to that billing and more. His destruction of Baker Mayfield on the National Stage Monday Night further amplifies his chances.

That said, for me, too early to call here. Both Bosa and Bush have assisted their defenses in more ways than one. Personally, I cannot wait to see how this DROY race will end!!

Comparing a pass rusher to an inside LB for droy isnt going to be the determining factor, if bosa leads the league in sacks he will get the prize since they value pass rushers over inside LBs....

Correct but like the OP says he isn't a "run away winner" like ninernation is making it out to be...jmo

I love what Bush is doing, but through 6 weeks Bosa is leading the entire NFL in pressure rate. If he does that for the entire season he will likely be the DROY.

Sounds like something we used to call Tractor Radiator Alcohol. :herewego: At least it's not Atomic Cranberry Cocktail - one of those in these parts is quite enough. ;)

I already slapped em' silly for ya NY. He apologized. Unfortunately #55 won't get the same National Press that the Bosa Bros do as do the Watt Bros as does the Matthews Clan. But I'm sure glad we have Bush and a Watt at this time. Still not quite the super power dynamics of Troy, but not a bad second fiddle duo. Troy should be headed to the HOF this next ballot. That highlight reel should win a Emmy (or at least an ESPY).

Yes saw that after I posted all good man thanks. I actually disagree with you about the press DB55 is getting. Man I listed to a lot of talk radio and several different shows and many are talking about him. I really believe if he keeps going like this he will get more press, jmo.

    Troy...........:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

I error-ed comparing #55 to #43. While they are/were both turnover machines, different skill sets, position, build, roles etc. Bush reminds me of a shorter Kendrell Bell, when he applies one of his now patented brick wall stops. Sure hope he lasts a lot longer than K Bell did.

Pressure rate is a result of the whole d line. Bush is putting up monster numbers solo. Better talent than bosa.

We’ll see what happens. Pass rushing is a premium talent in the NFL, and if a rookie finishes the season as one of the top rushers, it’s likely that he’ll get the DROY year nod over a LB.

Bosa padded his stats against the Clowns, Bengals, AFCN. Bush already has DROY stats for a season. I see the probowl & a good chance at allpro for Bush this season. He keeps playing like he has the last few games & he runs away with DROY.

I disagree about this here. Bush did much of the same. Los Angeles has way too many injuries to count and Cincy is just.. well... there as a team.

Not advocating for Bosa here but let us be fair here. Both Bush and Bosa have faced good competition and not so good. Let us wait and see what both can do down the stretch.

Personally, I am not worried about individual awards. Do not get me wrong they are great accolades. However, I just want championships. I still ponder the thought that if we had drafted Dan Marino. Oh! What could have been.

Championships? You may have come to the wrong place. There’s a large contingent of “ non losing record” faithful around here.

If the unthinkable happens this season and Tomlin can't keep his streak of mediocrity alive, what will they cling to next...
