I’m not gonna argue with you because I know you have strong feelings but I don’t think your examples are as black and white and as completely accurate as you are making them sound. There are a lot of details being missed or left out.
Sleeping in meetings = very bad. Not a excuse but do we know when it started? Was it after being promised playing time not getting it and asking for his release and not being granted it?

Refused to practice? I’d have to go back and look at the DNP reports from each week to verify that.

Wouldn’t help the younger guys? Did hold a camp every year for whoever wanted to go to AZ to train. I’d say that’s something....

Demanded his release? Reports are he asked for his release many times and it was only granted when they needed a roster spot late in the year thus limiting his options of where he could go. If he was so terrible and doing all these things , why was he kept around and who’s fault is that?

The guy spent a **** load of money just to be able to keep playing the game he loves and wasn’t allowed to play. Anyone with a competitive bone in their body wants to play. He was running out of time. He wasn’t being given any playing time asked for his release and was denied. I think that’s when all these things started because before then we never heard boo about how JH went about playing or preparing for the game.

You can say nothing justifies his actions but you weren’t in his shoes. How would you feel if you were spending almost as much as your making to do something you love and someone tells you that you can’t do that here? I’m sure you would look to go somewhere you could. Nobody wants to sit and watch. He had earned his right to play. Play him or cut him. If he’s washed up, cut him. If he’s a trouble maker not even playing, cut him. What good is he to the team?

like I said though you are entitled to your opinion . I can respect that.

I heard Harrison threw a sack full of cute puppies in the river on his way outta the stadium after he was released.

Let me say this. This is my opinion of Harrison.
He was promised playing time during trading camp and at least one other time during the season he was told to be ready only to not play. I’m one of the guys who thought he should be getting playing time. But with that said things change and while Tomlin probably shouldn’t be making promises he can’t keep he’s also the coach of a team that he has to make decisions that are in the best interest of all the players. Things change throughout the course of the season and sometimes unpopular decisions have to be made. That’s just the way it goes.

I remember when Harrison left for Cincinnati it was all about the money. Then when he wasn’t getting the playing time that he was promised it wasn’t about the money anymore. (because remember he was getting paid to sit on the bench) then it was all about his love of the game and just wanting to play.

Harrison sleeping in meetings and all the other antics he polled just because he was disgruntled that he didn’t get to playing time as promised was wrong and detrimental to the team. And you asked why did they let it go on for so long if it was that bad. What about Antonio Brown?
I’m loyal to the Steelers organization. These players that go rogue I have no use for.

and the reason why you don’t just cut him is for what happened after we did.

    edit:
I know we have a different opinion on this. That’s fine I have no problem with that. I do appreciate being able to have a discussion and not getting all butt hurt over it.

I appreciate the discussion as well. I would like to point out though that Harrison was being played out of position in Cincinnati and that’s why he wasn’t happy. I’m loyal to the organization as well but I also recognize when they are wrong and IMO they were wrong but you have yours as well . Good talk.

If I remember correctly (big if) Harrison was asked to come back for another year so TJ could have some time to acclimate himself to the defense. Promised playing time but TJ was a stud out of the gate. Still could have used him on the left side but I believe Dupree was coming off an injury from the previous year & Popcorn wanted to see what Dud could do.

We already knew what Dud could do...not much. I strongly believe it was done to save face over a bad #1 pick. Just like the 9.2 mil dollars for no reason.

So judging by your reasoning a lot of you would welcome AB back to Pittsburgh as well?

I probably didn’t explain the Cincinnati thing very well. what I was thinking was that Harrison was cut by Pittsburgh because of his salary cap hit. He was asked to take a pay cut and declined (which I have no problem with) The excuse a lot of players use is “It’s a business “ Then when they on the bench getting paid its all about playing football. Seems hypocritical on their part.
Anyway I love and appreciate what Harrison did on the field for the team, I just wish he wouldn’t have done some of the other stuff he did at the end.

I’m sure everyone wishes things didn’t end the way they did. I’ve been able to separate the two. Some clearly haven’t and have become rabid and maniacal in their displeasure....I’m not naming any names but look up a couple posts:hehehe:

Exactly... Both accused of horrible things except Harrisons have been proven true. Both acted like asses. Both quit on their team. Both joined the Pats. Harrison's scenario was actually worse because he joined them for playoffs and tried to help them tie us in Super Bowls. The only difference between the two is AB doesn't have 1 Super Bowl play to fallback on. That's it. Harrison is #1 in sacks and AB is #2 all time receiving. So by your standards you should be welcoming AB back with open arms.

AB was jealous of the attention JuJu was getting. He devised a plan to get to NE and it worked. He didnt care that Ben called him out or any of the other tall tales.... he flat out lied to everyone, including Jerry Rice. He quit on the Steelers. In the end, he did the Steelers a favor.

JH wanted to play, he was promised to play, and they sat him. Maybe he wouldve retired if not for the promises or maybe not. The defense was weak and just his experience alone of the field couldve helped, but they sat him. Maybe he hated MT as much as some of us here. I dont know but the guy wanted to play and it was his last ride. Yes I was pissed as everyone else but Im over it.

Just for the record, when he went to the Bungals, he didnt play either game if Im not mistaken. "Injured" both times or was he just not wanting to play his fellow Steelers. Kinda like not having to play them in the playoffs when he went to the Cheaters. He didnt quit on the Steelers, MT quit on him.

The guy is possibly the last of the dying breed of Steeler LBers as some of us know them.

Yea, Im probably still a little pissed at him but just the SB interception highlight alone makes me willing to get over it.

JH was jealous of the PT Watt was getting. He devised a plan to get to NE by sleeping in meetings/distancing himself from team/not mentoring younger guys to get cut and it worked. He also was probably whispering in ABs ear and contributed to all of ABs nonsense. He's also been on a vengeance tour ever since bashing Tomlin in the media. Which is counterintuitive to the Steelers goal and anybody who is "Steelers to their core"

How is anything Harrison did different than AB? Lets call a spade a spade. It's one Super Bowl play and he pulls on your strings with the Tomlin hate.
