I didn't get to see the Seattle game because I was in HHI playing golf.

We barely lost to the 9ers because of horrible game planning and a late fumble.

We barely lost to the Ravens because of injuries, poor challenge choices and clock management, and a late fumble.

Other than the Patriots game and the limited coaching that we all know exists at our coordinator positions, this team has looked out of sync but change a couple fumbles and we are 3-2 and in sole possession of first place.

I honestly don't know what to think.............................

This team barely lost to the 49ers because of their 5 turnovers otherwise it would have been a blowout. The ratbirds only looked good against a terrible Arizona team and the tanking Dolphins, the browns beat them easily. They were in the game against the Seahawks because the defense played well in the 1st half until Seattle made their halftime adjustments. The defense made 1 stop on the their first possession in the 3rd quarter and then scored on every possession after that.

If this team was any good they wouldn't need some luck to win games, they played 1 team that was good and were blown out. The 49ers game would have looked a lot like what happened to the browns last night if not for the turnovers.

I expected 7-9 (with Ben)... so I'm not really surprised or angry at what has transpired. The Ravens are not as good as they are hyped up to be.... and I think they will lose some games here soon, while the Steelers start winning.

Yeah. 9-7 really may win this division. I was thinking we’re out of it Sunday, but I’m not able to get there yet. Win in LA and we may still have a chance. A slim chance, but still a chance because the division is not strong.

Yes, we were right in the game against the 49'ers but only because of their 5 fumbles. Take those away and they smash us. It works both ways. You can say we were 1 play away from winning, they can say they were 1 play away from smashing us. At the end of the day, we looked like **** against NE, Seattle and SF. We looked better against the Ravens, but poor play calling and poor play by our offence cost us that game. Is that promising or are the Ravens terrible? Who knows, but as time goes on, we'll find out what kind of team we have.

Our division is terrible so although the playoffs are unlikely, it's definitely not impossible. What is certain though is we are not a contending team. Our QB's have serious question marks. Our WR's have been bad. Our defence shows promise, but continues to give up 3rd downs as well as not make timely stops. Our special teams is hot garbage. That's not a combination for a contending team, but then again, I'm not saying anything we don't already know.

This season is a write off. It would actually be better if we didn't make the playoffs.

Close is for losers, we was close last year and missed the playoffs, this year playing small ball is a recipe for disaster, we will just keep playing close as usual....

Even at 1-4 with as bad as the AFC North is the Steelers are still not out it.

Wheels are starting to fall off the Browns Super Bowl team, they got Seattle at home a bye week, then the Patriots in Foxboro. . They could be 2-5.

Ravens have a bad Bengals team, which I'm sure they will beat unless Bengals actually show up, and they have at times vs. the Ravens.
Then they have the Seahawks, then a bye week and then the Patriots.

There is still a ways to go, but you could see a 7-9 record or 8-8 win the AFC North this season.
As horrible as that is, some one gets to host a home Wildcard game. Then you can be Tim Tebow and beat the Steelers. LOL

Not much is pointing up for us, other than in our losses (outside the Pats game) we aren't getting smoked out the ball games and have been in them, we just can't come out on the right side of them.

Yep, it all hinges on whether or not Tomlin can have his team ready to play on the west coast for the first time in a couple forevers. Then we have a bye and three in a row at home; the Dolphins, Colts, and highly over-rated Rams.

Last time I think we won in Cali was against the Chargers in San Diego. But now it's in LA at a soccer field. LOL

You make good points here that the schedule is the Steelers best friend the next few weeks if they can just find a way to go 2-1 in the games with the Chargers,Dolphins and Colts and get to 3-5. But they still have to actually do it. The Ravens and Browns can continue to lose games all they want if the Steelers don’t ****ing win it’s not gonna matter and time for that is starting to slowly run out. If they are 3-5 going into the Rams game here at home on November 10th they will still be very much in this AFC North race. As I stated in another thread the Ravens and Browns are going to be no better then 4-4 or 3-5 in the next few weeks.

That record was, for the most part, pre-Tomlin. According to this article he is 1-5 but I think they are including only Ca. If you take the entire west coast I read he is 2-11. I also read he is the only HC who insists on traveling to the west coast the day before a game whereas other coaches go several days early. Maybe he manages that clock poorly too:smiley1:

Maybe Tomlin is too slack with the curfew on nights before games on west coast. Steelers party too hard and are hungover on game days out west. Judging by the way they play on the west coast, it wouldn't surprise me. They are terrible out west.

Ironically, they won it with a wildcat formation.
