That's what I thought happened, too.

He only had one hand on the ball. Instead of protecting it with the defender right there, he went for the stiff arm. He tried to do too much on the play and it cost his team the game.

They held the Ravens to a long field goal despite a terrible roughing the passer call. I'm not thrilled with the defense's performance, but I have a hard time faulting them for this game.

You directly quoted him. Either way...probably best for some folks to walk away and take a breath.

I can't get down on Juju for a fluke fumble when his extra effort has led to game winning field goals in the past.

I can. It wasn't extra effort that caused the fumble. It was failing to protect it properly. You have to know the situation. He already had the first down near midfield. If you can go through the tackler with both hands on the ball, fine, but going for the stiff arm there was a mistake.

I saw a play maker trying to make a play, and Humphrey making a hell of a move with his timing and accuracy to punch the ball out. Humphrey tried the exact same move in the first quarter but Juju held on and took it for a touchdown (without both hands on the ball).

You can't stiff arm a defender who is that close. He could see how close Humphrey was to him. He needs to hang on to the ball there. It is both a great play by Humphrey and a big screw-up by Smith-Schuster, one that cost his team the game.

Yup, but I'm not going to get down on Juju just yet.
If Humphrey whiffed and Juju took it for a TD, when and where he should stiff arm wouldn't be part of the conversation.

Ju Ju fumbled away a game last year as well.

I hate to say it, but does he have a fumble problem?
