The decision to not take the ball was horrible though. I'm not sure if Tomlin wanted to try to show he had confidence in the defense, but there is no logical reason why you wouldn't take the ball first in OT. At the same time, the offense should of been hyped about getting a chance to go out first and win the game, but instead were left on the sidelines. I bet that wasn't good for their confidence or the rookie QB's. It was just another horrible decision by Tomlin on many levels regardless of the defense being able to stop them.

 

I hate this loss, but Hodges did enough to win the game. The defense did what it was supposed to do. Unfortunately JuJu fumbled the ball away and thus we have a loss.

Not to be a kneejerk reactionary but that game is the type to lose a job over.

 

It wasn't. At the same time, the refs made two horrible calls that went the Steelers way that allowed the game to even get to that point.

 

Fire ****ing Butler and Tomlin now. This is what I get for giving them another chance. Heart break and bull****.

I thought it was dumb to not take the ball, but that didn’t end up costing them the game.

 

I don't think the OT decision not to take ball lost this game, but it could have been very easily.

 

Tough crowd regarding Juju. Him not fumbling wasn't a guaranteed victory.

Dude we disagree a lot but I’m over it. You just can’t give up opportunities for our team to win. We just aren’t good enough to hang around like this. This one hurts I’m loggin off

 

It's amazing how ball security at the end of games has been a problem for awhile. Focus should be there for all 60 minutes, but when we are trying to close out games, the defense is going for the ball more than normal and we make other teams looks great by our lack of fundamentals.

I literally benched a kid on Friday who jumped off sides on the edge on a 4th and 5. Situational football exists at a class 1 level football. Then Lamar drops the ball on center exchange and we allow him to pick it up and run around left side and pick up plenty of yards on the 4th and 1. Where is our gap integrity on 4th and short defense. I am very happy overall with the defense, but it's sad to see our lack of ball security isn't anything new and it needs to be addressed more than ever.

 

I actually agreed with tomlin when he deferred you gotta rookie QB in there allow your defense to get the stop which they did and we had a good opportunity to win I hate to say it but as much as I like juju that lost was on him.

 

3 interceptions and you still lose the game

 

That is not the reason they lost.

You have your 3rd string QB in the game who has never been in the situation. You were facing a QB who you had on his heels, you had a defense that was playing very well, you were facing a kicker that could kick it from 50+ in his sleep. You mitigate their best weapon as much as you can (Tucker) by forcing him to kick into the bad side of the field if he even gets the opportunity, which he did not because your defense did their job and forced a punt.

They lost in overtime because JuJu fumbled the ball, no other reason.

 

Not taking the ball was the wrong decision. I do not care if it worked out (them punting on the dirst posession), that does not make it the right decision.

 

Sloppy team full of morons who forget the most basic fundamentals. Roughing the passer call and juju closed the casket on us.

Hoodie did defer once in OT. It was against the Jets. They scored a TD and he lost.

I agree should’ve never gave them the ball, but Tomlin actually got lucky and it worked. We got the ball only needing a field goal to win.
