One thing I want to bring up is the dollar defense. I know there was a lot of talk about the way we were drafting to run this style. Add Mincah in the mix with Edmunds we may be able to do this. Remember last season how the Chargers ran this in the playoffs and shut Jackson down? this could be a big part of the game plan any thoughts?

I think they should use 2 ilb to try and make Lamar beat them. If Ingram gets going it will be a disaster imo.

Mark Ingram is sixth in the NFL in rushing yards with 328 and he averages 6.0 per carry.

Mark Ingram is their main rusher, they need to stop him first, UGIII isn't going to play VW is good against the run.

13 - 58 for the game one after 1-49 = about 4.4 per against miami. Win total 107
12- 31 for the game after 1-16= about 2.6 against ari. Win total 47
15-82 for the game after 1-21= about 5 against kc. Loss. total 103
11-53 for the game after 1-18= about 4.8 against cleve. Loss. total 71total

limit his big run per game and Ingram is more manageable. He's gone over 100 twice.

    Lamar 38 carries - 238 over 6 per carry.

limit the big run and they are both manageable.

I get what your saying but man the Chargers really handled them with the dollar and if I remember right Tomlin wanted to run more dollar.

If we get a good lead, Lamar will struggle. Didn't see the Chargers play them, did they get up on them early?

I like the speed on the field part but our front five has been getting knocked back about 5 yards in the run game.

The dumbest among many dumb things the Bengals did Monday night was get away from running Mixon. He ended up with only 15 carries. If the Ravens are running the ball effectively, I doubt they are going to do the Steelers any such favors.

I went lurking over on the Ravens site. There was a significant number who think we will win. My how the times have changed.

Earl Thomas admitted to giving up on a play. That's not AFC North football.

JuJu hasn't practiced yet this week, needs to make an appearance tomorrow to be able to play Sunday.

Going to be an ugly offensive night if he can't go, Ravens will just shut down DJ because no one else has stepped up.

If Washington doesn't break out this game, he never will.

There is a thread on the Ravens message board about whether Thomas should be benched or not. Thomas stated that he isn't running full speed because he is afraid to pull a hamstring.
On top of that he and defensive tackle Brandon Williams almost got in a fight in the locker room after the game. I know there was talk about signing him in the off season but thankfully we ended up with Fitzpatrick instead of Thomas.

Typical story. The Ravens lost ugly last week. Like here their fans think they'll never win again. Meanwhile, the B&G won in a rout, so this week the sky's the limit.

My contrarian view is to be wary of teams that got killed the previous week. Especially, when you're coming off of a big win. Methinks, this will be a tough game for the Steelers on a short week.

If we were both 2-2 I’d be more inclined to pick the Ravens for that reason, but I think our 1-3 record will keep us from having that big win complacence. We need it too much.

This is a good read could we do it IDK but I know Tomlin has talked about this defense.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/06/sports/chargers-ravens-nfl-playoffs.html

For the Chargers, the rare alignment of seven defensive backs, which replaced bulky linebackers with smaller, fleet defenders, was a risk. But it was intended to thwart Jackson’s advanced rushing skills.

Lamar Jackson on the Steelers-Ravens rivalry: "Physical, everyone after each other. I just can’t wait to perform in it. They play that little song (Renegade), they wave their little flags and stuff, with the little towels around. It was pretty dope. I enjoyed it.” #Steelers

If the Steelers are smart they will spy Jackson .. Put Bush on him and make him use his arm. Otherwise he will run rampant
