I can’t remember completely last night but I don’t think he was targeted more then 1 or 2 times. Is he not getting open?? Has Diontae Johnson surpassed him as the number 2 receiver?? It’s surprising seeing how Rudolph played with him and you would think has a good rapport with Washington and yet he hasn’t done much at all the last 2-3 games. Hopefully this changes and I think it needs to change moving forward if the Steelers offense hopes to continue to have more success and win more games moving forward.

I won't make anything of that until Rudolph has a complete game plan. Washington is a speedster and that's tough to capitalize on when you throw 2 yard passes:smiley1:

I think their game plan was a lot of high percentage passes to the backs and TE. Johnson was running some short crossing stuff as did Juju. It was probably just the game plan last night. We just needed to find a way to move the ball consistently which they did. I hope he gets involved as the season goes on.

I think there is no question that Dionte Johnson is the #2 receiver.

Do not read too much from this games. IMHO, offense is still finding an identity.

As long as Rudolph connects with DJ on long throws and TDs, he'll get more attention and things will open up for JJ and JW (as well as McDonald / Vannett).

I strongly think the plan is to increase the playbook gradually, getting them involved later on.

I like very much the way our WRs are developing, but probably it will take more time than what we would like.

Patience, my young padawan. Washington will be involved, he's one of MR's favorites...

I know it's early in Washington's career but it's time for him to step up. He looked very promising in preseason 2018 but disappeared in the regular season. Then he looked good again in preseason 2019. Now the regular season is a quarter of the way done and not only is his picture on the milk carton, the milk carton is even missing.

Our top three WR's as of the start of the season have combined for 26 rec for 353 yards and 1 TD in 4 games

That's an average of 2.88 catches per game for 29.4 yards and 0.083 TD's per player for 4 games.

If you just take our 2nd and 3rd WR, it's 9 catches for 95 yards in 4 games and zero TD's.

That's an average of 1.125 catches per game for 11.8 yards and 0.00 TD's per player for 4 games for your 2nd and 3rd WR's.

That's not great production from your "top 3" guys. The rookie, Johnson, has almost doubled their yardage combined and has 2 TD's to their combined total of 0.

Flag on the play - two "moving forwards" in the same sentence constitutes illegal procedure. 5 Yards - remains 2nd down. ;)

How many times has he been targeted? Can he separate, this is the key
have to be able to separate from the cb.

The Ravens' secondary is hot garbage with injuries, so let's hold this question until after Sunday. :)

I am a big JW fan and really thought once Mason took over we would see a lot of him. It is was early but like others here have said let's see what happens with a full playbook. I am hoping JW has a big game this week cause we need this win bad.

It has to be cause for concern about Washington that he has done so little with Rudolph starting. As others mentioned, he may not be getting targets because he isn't getting open. The excuse last year was that the Steelers had so many balls going to Brown and Smith-Schuster that there wasn't much left for him. That really isn't an excuse any longer.

He was out there blocking for the rbs. I like his versatility & he will get his targets. D. Johnson looks like he surpassed him though.

I'm not sure I buy this versatility bit. Sure, he's not a terrible blocker, but he's not a great one, either. Washington's job is to get open and catch passes. He isn't doing that job very well right now.

IDK where he is but Dionte Johnson is running away with the #2 job. Hopefully it lights a fire under James.

Problem is I think he's the one trick pony and wants to run everything with deep routes and beat with speed.

You got to create separation in the intermediate routes, or a QB isn't going to give you the looks and throw you the ball.

Maybe JW is being used as a decoy most of the time to pull a safety and/or corner back in order to open up the underneath dink/dunk routes. If so, it worked like a champ against Cincy. Otherwise, I've got nothing.
