Nice win, but it was against the Bungles. I`ll be shocked if we win the next game.

If he gets hurt at the end of the game then who do we have?

Holy cow!! I said the same thing!! What is Randy waiting on?!?! For the cows to come home?!?!

Seriously.. give Mason a chance! I do not mind giving Mason some safe passes and using his safety value at all. All I want is for the offense to open up more for him. Give those same players some slants and posts.

For that matter, have those Tight Ends go the seam routes a bit. It is not like Baltimore has any Linebackers who were as good in coverage as C.J. Mosley was anyway!!

Well aren't you just the life of the party. I gained some hope tonight. Hopefully we can keep you away from the electric sockets next week to minimize your shock.

Even though it was against the Bengals I was glad to see a more prepared team for a change. Also was impressed they kept their ears pinned back and went after the quarterback instead of going prevent and letting them back in the game like they almost always tend to do. It is one win against a bad team but I'll take it. Hope they come ready for the Ravens because they won't be as easy as the Bengals were.

Exactly. This was the first time in recent memory that the offense actually came out with a real game plan. There was creativity, speed, misdirections. It looked like a real modern offense as opposed to some holdover crap from 1988.

It was actually fun to watch. The Bengals are terrible and next week I fully expect them to return to caveman offense because this coaching staff sucks. But still, I will take it for tonight.

I'm just saying that they kept him out of harms way a lot tonight, both physically and mentally. At this point he needs the snaps but they did spoon feed his involvement.

Whether it is the Bengals or not should by no means be the important takeaway here. There is something of far greater magnitude of this game. Mason got comfortable and led the team for the win. That is what counts as he bounced back from a bad game in San Francisco. Tonight should be a good stepping stone for him and he should use this moving forward.

Now, moving forward, it is up to Randy Fichtner to expand the playbook for Mason. Not just Randy either. Keith Butler has to continue to put his players in winnable situations overall the same. The only way for Pittsburgh to continue to stack wins is if both Butler and Fichtner can expand and improve their strategies and tactics moving forward. If they remain stagnant or fail to do so, expect more frustration.

They are babying him big time and I don't understand why. It's not like he has shown he can't throw downfield.

As long as the wins keep coming though, I'm fine with bringing him along slowly but I don't think it's necessary.

Overall, not much to complain about tonight. This is why I haven't been freaking out about the defense, they were just getting gassed in the previous games but I could tell this is a good unit.

And how about my boy, Dionate! :herewego:

Here is the big question did they do enough to make teams think twice about stacking the box against Mason?

They will try early in the game in Baltimore. He needs to make them pay for it.

    .....

Perhaps I should have kept his 760+ Receiving Yards in my prediction looking back on it?! I was under the impression thar Donte Moncrief would be fine. Then his finger got hurt.

Sadly, I disregarded this given the fact he stated he was good to go for Week 1. Come Week 1... umm... whoops by yours truly!! :lolol:

    No doubt!!

Earl Thomas is a lock for Canton last time I checked. Tony Jefferson is no slouch either. Randy HAS to give Mason the keys at some point!!!

Huge huge game now Sunday. Big difference between getting back to 2-3 overall and 2-0 in the division and having a tiebreaker over the Ravens as opposed to being 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the division and being 2 games behind the Ravens at 3-2 with a loss to them at home. About as close as you can get to another must win game against this Sunday at home with the Ravens.

    @Blast Furnace

Regarding Devin Bush.. what did I tell you?! He is everything I had hoped he be! Even better, like Mason, he is gaining confidence... and that is all it takes.

No matter the opponent, confidence is key. Once you gain it, being more comfortable becomes more natural. After obtaining some comfort, the extraordinary can become ordinary.

    Once again, Devin Bush...

Defensive Rookie of the Year. I said this back on April 25th of this year. I am sticking to it. His only remaining challenger is another candidate... and a worthy one at that; Ed Oliver.

Both Ed Oliver and Devin Bush will meet up come December 15th. Too early now to tell who has the upper hand. Given how well Buffalo has been playing however, this game SCREAMS playoff implications for both teams... assuming Josh Allen can return sooner than later of course.

Thanks to the Yahoo sports app, I was able to watch most of the game while at work. Got home right before the 4th quarter.

Fun game to watch. They just HAVE to be cooking up a wrinkle with that wildcat.
