Highly unlikely. Both Chiefs and Patriots would have to collapse... and Steelers have to win at least 11 or 12 out of 13 remaining. Steelers would have to sweep the Ravens, which is also highly unlikely.

This guy already is a full grown Rot with more upside than anyone this defense has seen since Troy.
Would you prefer they use the draft pick on another runt of the litter...

I’m with you on the intruder part. Living in a rural area, I have a catahoula. Part Mastif, part greyhound and half red wolf. 94 pounds of muscle and ****you attitude.

    Plus a Glock.

I love Fitzpatrick but that pill would definitely get stuck if it's the number one overall. When I'm listening to games on the radio and something good happens I often hear it in Myron Copes voice in my head and to think of him trying to say Tau's name would be a good chuckle.

    Got two part-Catahoulas myself. No Glock...although I pine for an H&K VP40.

Only way this pick is ok is if mason proves to be the future. If mason looks like a bust than this was a horrible trade.

No Catahoulas here and no Glock, but there is a venerable H&K USP 40. I love it but I also pine for the VP40.

Despite initial media-created rumors of Tommy John surgery, Ben’s surgery was actually not that significant. He is expected to be back next year, and adding Fitz is a significant upgrade to our pass defense for the last 2 years of Ben’ Contract. This was an all-in for 2020-2021 move.

Yep! He looked good, he looked motivated, and he looked like the kind of guy we need back there! I think it was a good trade.

I don't get the connection? The trade is looking good right now based on Fitzpatrick's merit. Mason doesn't have much chance with the current O-line coach and OC.......nobody would.

Because if mason is a bust we could have possibly had the number 1 overall pick next yr. I mean we are seriously that bad.. If we had the number 1 overall pick I'd rather have Tua than minkah.

I'm sure he will be back. Him being back doesnt mean he will be good. And he is a significant upgrade but this team is far from a player or two away from a sb even with Ben.

FA98's point, which I agree with, is that without a franchise QB the team is in a tough spot. If Rudolph looks like a franchise QB, or if Ben comes back as good as before, then the trade was a good one. If one of those doesn't happen, then you've used a valuable asset, a high first round pick, that could have been used one way or another either by picking or trading for a franchise QB. For example, the Packers got Favre by trading a first round pick to the Falcons.

And the argument that Ben will be completely healthy in 2020 doesn't give me much comfort. Being healthy and being effective are two different things. Even without the surgery a 38 year old Ben was no guarantee to continue playing at high level.

And if they kept the pick and drafted a QB in the first that turns out to be a bust? Now you still have a weak secondary and no franchise QB.

We can play these what if games all day or deal with what’s in front of us. A top safety was available and they got him, improving the team immediately.

    Blast,

Yes, we can go round and round with no satisfactory end. Like the Steelers did between Bradshaw and Ben. They had great players throughout that period, but they didn't have a franchise QB and won no SB's during that time.

You have to secure the QB position first and foremost. That's just the way the league works. Everything else is window dressing. If you draft a bust then you draft another, but you have to find that QB and the best way to do that is to draft one in the first half of the first round which is where Bradshaw and Ben were. There's no guarantees of course but that's where the elite QB's are generally found, Brady and Russell Wilson notwithstanding.
Best thing about a Glock, every time you pull the trigger it fires.

Worst thing about a Glock, every time you pull the trigger it fires.

    Ask Plaxico, he knows.

Seriously, that's why I have a Sig. I like that external safety. Don't trust myself.
