I'm thinking 5. Maybe 6 tops. That is 6/22 is bad...and hence why we are 0-3.

    1. JuJu
    2. Watt
    3. Fitzpatrick
    4. DeCastro
    5. Haden
    6. Boswell?

Chances of us winning 4 in a row? Worse than Tomlin winning 4 challenges in a row.

I think you're really selling the team short. Bush, McDonald, Pouncey, Nelson (Chiefs last year). Could even argue Heyward, Tuitt, and Hargraves. If Ben is TRULY healthy (not playing through elbow pain) the Steelers are 2-1, at worst 1-2 and would stomp the Bengals. So looking at 3-1 or 2-2. Ben is our leader and most important to being a "winning team". Don't quite understand your point here.

You are really taking a black and gold colored glasses view of things. Bush is a rookie who has potential but looks lost at times. He isn't ready to start on a winning team so far. McDonald - maybe if he can stay healthy (he never can). Pouncey in the past I might have agreed but he has been getting 0 push in the run game this year. Nelson - OK I can buy this.

Heyward has been invisible this year. Tuitt has flashed some but largely is overrated by Steelers fans. Hargraves has been terrible.

So of your list I add maybe 1 or 2 more guys.

The problem is that there is no deep threat and it’s too easy to shut the offence down. Put a healthy Vance and a reliable deep threat receiver on the team and things would look much better. The run would open up as teams would have to drop in to coverage.

The team is still pretty talented. Haden, Nelson, Fitzpatrick, Watt, Heyward, Tuitt, DeCastro, Pouncey, JuJu and a healthy Ben and Vance would start for most teams. There are other players like Bush, DJ and JW, who might be very good yet, Edmunds even, with the right coaching.

Things are not as bad as they seem. Draft 2020 and 2021 need to pick up some weapons on offence though.

Not starting 17 threads a day all saying “this team sucks” doesn’t necessarily mean someone’s wearing black and gold glasses. Just sayin’.

This kind of stuff is to be expected after a 0-3 start. Sky is falling big time around here.

Well, the Steelers had winning records the last 5 yrs. So quite a lot of the veterans have started for winning teams.

Several, go back to the loser board you came from. Typical FB comment.

What you fail to truly realize when asking this question is the talent of the players not the performance. AS we have seen for over a decade now Tomlin does not run a tight ship. In fact the only thing Tomlin excels at is his ability to get the least out of a player and to make sure they are not prepared for their current opponent. Its honestly a mind blowing thought when you consider the amount of talent that's been wasted and the length of time that its been going on.

We have some very talented players here. However they are still players and like any company with management, if the management team is too worried about being friends with the workers, hires sub par (friends) as lower level management and is generally in over their head then these are the results you will get time and time again. Problem is when you go a step further, the ownership is clueless or lazy and accepts mediocrity. Have you seen those commercials where they joke about some ones skills being "just OK". This is how ownership is running this team. Tomlin Isnt a truly horrible coach, but hes not great either. You could def do worse than him. However you have also seen his absolute best already and that's his ceiling. If he hasn't figured it out in over a decade then why would he now? He is not a strategist and he is truly not a motivator or leader either. He might just be the truest definition of a players coach. He simply does not demand more of his players and this starts at the Top with Rooney.

So the answer to your question is, Probably more players than you think from this roster would not only start for other teams but you would see a surprising leap in performance as well. (almost makes you wonder how many of these draft pick busts might have been better if they had a better culture around them and better coaching in general). Make no mistake about it we have a culture issue on this team.

Yeah , that was supposed to be Moncrief's job. He really put the offense in a bad spot with his uselessness. They have no other legit deep threat. The rest are 4.5+ guys.

To be honest though, the more alarming thing is JuJu's lack of production. Yeah, he had that one fluke play, but other than that he's done almost nothing. His inability to separate at all is very disheartening when we were all expecting him to be our new superstar no.1 wr. Maybe that was never realistic on our part but clearly the Steelers thought he was capable of it as well I assume.

No part of the team is performing up to its expectations.

With all of juju's lack of production he's still on pace for 76 ct and 1300 yds, not bad.

I think the proper question is, starting with tomlin how many of these coaches could coach for a winning team?

That one fluke play has distorted the reality of his play so far. Take away one catch and he's averaging 4 catches for 55 yards a game and zero TD's.

Not great for a no. 1 wr.

Watt and Juju would be awesome players with a good OLB and WR complimenting them. Steelers have potential for a good #2 WR in Diontae Johnson.... but I don't think they have anyone on the roster who could help Watt at ROLB. I thought Adeniyi could be that guy.... but he's gonna rot on the bench.

Yupp. He doesnt have the speed and quickness of the other top guys. He never was really a burner but I thought he had enough quickness to consistently beat the top corners man to man. Juju is best served when you have another guy like a AB focused as your #1 and he can move around and expose mismatches. Like I said all offseason it's an entirely different world when you dont have the guy who had the best 6 year stretch for a WR in the 100 year history of the NFL next to you with every team focusing on stopping him before they even think about you.
