mason also played a game and a half. Both are at 56.5% completion rate. Difference is mason has 4 td passes. Ben 0. Ben 5.7 per pass att.. Mason 6.2 per att.. Keep trying 6.

Dude a healthy Ben gives this team the best chance to win, Mason will be back on the bench in 2020. I also remember you telling us how Mark Barron was going to make this defense good , how is that working out?

Heres an idea, Ben is kaput for the year.

Why not wait and see how Mason pans out over the course of the season before writing him off

Mason might be alright this year, but some fans are delusional if they think he's going to start next season .

Roethlisberger most likely played his last game vs. Seahawks. It wouldn't surprise me if he retired in January.

Hypothetical, doesn't matter if you believe it or not but let's say Mason leads them to the playoffs, wins a wc game before being eliminated.

    What do you do?

That's a no brainer. If Steelers make the playoffs and win a game, they should roll with Rudolph in 2020.

Stats aside, Mason doesn't pass the "eye test." You know how when you are watching a player for the first time and you're like "wow, what ever this guy has, he has 'IT'" I felt the opposite when it came to MR. Maybe I am being too critical, but he doesn't come off as a QB who is capable of putting the team on his back and carrying you through the playoffs. Sadly, I think Ben is done and our next QB is in the 2021 draft. Meaning, i'll be the 2022 season before we have a shot of a playoff win.

Ben already said he wants to honor the last 2 years of his contract, his injury isn't as serious as Tommy John so he should be ready by training camp.

We need to see what he has in order to make any kind of determination on Mason. I will say this though. If the Oline does not improve Mason is going to get killed it will be duck hunting season

If Ben is healthy he gets his job back no question, the Eagles won a SB with Foles as MVP, Wentz was the starter he got his job back although he is younger than Ben.

I said earlier if he's healthy after the surgery, he already said he wants to honor the last 2 years of his contract.

ok now the defense is all his fault like the offense is all masons. I gotcha 6. Again keep trying. You are just making yourself sound silly. I didn't hear you complain when he makes tackles and gets a sack of a an but if recovers a fumble. So he had a pass interference call, believe me he won't be the last guy in the league to do that.

A healthy ben does give this team the best chance to win. Just because it's the best chance doesnt mean it's a good chance.

What else is Ben going to say at this stage? He has to say he is coming back.

Might be a different story after a year off football when he has to face pre season and getting back in football shape, especially if his O-Line and the team continues to play badly. He is going to make a tonne of money either way after that contract they gave him. It would be an easy decision to retire given he has two rings and is going to the hall of fame anyway.

I’m not saying he definitely won’t come back but I wouldn’t be taking it as a given right now.

Andrew Filipponi on 93.7 "the fan" said today that "the Steelers philosophy for the last 10 years is to have Ben run the offense and everyone else just wing it".
That seemed to be the case because if the defense gives up 37 points don't worry about it Ben will find a way to score 38. Well Ben ain't around anymore and the coaching staff is clueless about how to actually game plan for their opponent. They relied too long on Ben making school yard plays that weren't in the playbook to win games.

You just explained why. Wentz is younger and the guy they mortgaged their franchise for...

No offense to you but didn’t we already know this? It also appears to be the same ideology on defense when we had stars and now that they’re all gone......welp! . Our coordinators are terribly weak and our HC isn’t a tactician either. So this is what’s you get. We can’t out talent anyone anymore.

Rudolph will get full camp next yr with the first team, just like some of the top 10 picks, and it will be alright. Weare in a 4 or 3 year Mason Rudolph window.

It doesn't matter if Ben is older, he's still the unquestioned starter in 2020.

Ben isn't walking away from $68 million dollars, the last few years Ben has come into camp in great shape. I doubt he wants to walk away ending his career like this.
