If Barron is going to be lazy, give some snaps to Gilbert, I bet he would hustle out there.

Given what we’ve invested in the ILB position, we seem to get picked apart in the middle of the field by everybody.

He can't cover and like Bush is too small to play ILB. We are in a world of
trouble here. 5 yds and a cloud of dust on every running play. SF didn't need to throw it.

Do you remember, when cowher gave the owner an ultimatum? It was either him or the gm. And, they chose cowher. I believe the gm went to the giants. That's the type of coach we need. Not one, that get players chosen for him and then is told .... go and win games.

The Bettis deal occurred before the 1996 season when Tom Donohoe was the GM. The Cowher/Donohoe power struggle happened after the 6-10 1999 season. How much credit Cowher should get for trading for Bettis is therefore unknown.

Didn't he have some weird Achilles injury that Rams were hush hush about (meaning it was worse then they would let on)?

I'm surprised we brought him in at all. Or at the very least think he was going to run with players in pass coverage???

You saw it,I saw it, lots of people saw it. The coaches didn’t see it? That tells you all you need to know

True, but the actual spelling is Barron. The actual role next week needs to be the bench. It's not just a matter of incompetence. It is effort and that is inexcusable. I'd love to see them start Gilbert. I don't think it's going to make them better, but I want to see guys out there who give a damn on every play.

I'm starting to think it's the scheme. We keep spending all this time trying to find guys to cover TE's. Edmunds was suppose to be able to do it but nope. No other team has this much trouble covering TE's.

To be fair, Kittle is a great player. The issue is that Barron can’t cover anybody.

I remember what happened back then, Donahoe was still the GM back then and he made the trade.

Bettis always thanked coach cowher for giving him a chance. Heck, the whole offense was set up and featured around bettis. We can all agree, that Cowher was a more hands on and in your face coach. And, Cowher surrounded himself with great assistants

So @mac daddyo@mac daddyo are you going to defend Barron on this also?

Pretty sure I could get open vs him and I’m set to have ankle surgery soon.
