Does anyone really think this OL is one of the best in the NFL?

I saw where they were saying his surgery is scheduled for this week so he may have stayed in Pitt to get ready for that and can expect to see him with a headset and sweats next week.

Watching play designs for the Rams makes me jealous because their wr talent is about the same as the Steelers and they are getting Kupp wide open with designed scheme

Fichtner doesn’t have a career as a OC outside of Pittsburgh. Neither does Butler. We have the worst coordinators in the league quite possibly. Nobody is breaking down doors to get to them.

I really think he was a Ben choice but his record for non Ben games is not good. I know he did some OC work for college ball but he needs a Varsity game and not JV.

I think I read that Pouncey comment during the week, I'm not positive though. I haven't suffered through any post game yet.

Yeah earlier in the week after the bad news came for Ben and the Oline had good supportive things to say about Mason. Then I think they asked Pouncey about Ben coming back, that's when he said it was still Ben's team and expected him to be ready at OTA's

That makes sense I guess, since it's a trip to the west coast. Might be some discomfort involved in the travel, swelling and such.
I agree about the play designs, but based on your X&O posts, you've probably forgot more about football play designs and schemes than I will ever know.

You can definitely thank Ben for his being hired as OC. For the longest time I was saying who is this slob that is supposedly the quarterbacks coach and why is he on this team? I just find it funny they fire Arians because he was too chummy with Ben then fire Haley cause they couldn't get along, then bring in a guy whose chummy again.

Teams can coordinators often during the regular season, but for some reason this team avoids it like the plague.

Continuity is the excuse. Continued disappointment is the result

Continuity has become a disease with this ownership. If that's what they care about above all else, they shouldn't be in this business.

This offensive line was never road graders so I never considered them one of the best.

The pass blocking was terrible today. Villanueva has been particularly awful so far this season. There is no excuse the way that offense played in the first half. They were a little better in the second, but not by much. This team is a complete disaster and the offensive line is the biggest disappointment of any unit. Losing Nix and now McDonald doesn't help, but the blocking just isn't there.

The FB is hurt and the starting TE can't stay healthy. Lining up in the I and trying to power your way wasn't an option.

Even when those guys are healthy, they stay in shotgun.

This is what drove me bonkers today. They didn't find ways to get the ball to JuJu or James Washington. They were calling plays like Ben and AB were on the field.

They fired Arians because he couldn't get Ben to change his playing style, Ben was taking too many hits, that changed under Haley.

I think this OL is vastly over rated. They need to be be able to run the ball
to give Mason a chance. I think everyone of the Steelers OL is OVERRATED.
And have said so for years. Munchak atleast got something out of them.
