If we go 0-16, we don't have a 1st round draft pick. That is all.....

No ****. Why are people all worried about that?
We got a proven first round talented player. That was an easy trade.
I’d make that trade every day of the week. Besides did you see Fitzpatrick play today? And as he learns the defense he’s only going to improve.

I know right. People are acting like we are in dire straits with the trade.
We got our first rd pick a year early.
    I love it.

Thats how I look at it. I don't know why this is a difficult concept.

Given their hit and miss record on 1st rd picks lately, this was no brainer.

If it were THE number one pick, that would be a tough pill to swallow, no?

Exactly. Some people like to complain just to complain.
People say “Steelers never make any moves”
Then when they do all people do is ***** about it.
What the really mean is “Steelers never make the nutty moves I want them to make”
    Fitzpatrick was an excellent trade.

Sure, but that’s very unlikely, not impossible, but unlikely.

I am semi-trolling guys. Someone pointed this out to me and my response was 'going on past picks, those idiots would draft a punter.'

Yeah, people need to get over the Fitzpatrick trade. Why would people be mad about an awful organization like Miami "maybe" getting a top 10 first out of us when according to the same people, the Steelers can't draft anyway? Pretzel logic.

"THE" number one pick? He looked good today, too early to tell IMO.

Until it comes time to pay all those first-round picks new contracts and they have to choose between cutting off one arm or the other and one leg over the other. So on and so on.

Yes and no, Glenn. We did get an established first round, grade out talent. But with higher first round draft picks, we got Hall of Famers (Ben and Troy). While Minkah May have a pro bowl year here and there, not sure with this coaching staff he can develop into a championship winning hall of famer. And all bets are off if it ends up being a top 5 pick.... if Steelers thought this was the piece in getting a championship, ok. But as Tomlin has proved, with 3 superstars (AB, Bell and Ben) he gets playoffs, with 1 superstar, winning season and no playoffs, with no superstars, 0-3. Bad coaching has kept the Steelers in a holding pattern.

Or Steelers make the right moves 2 seasons too late. Could you imagine the talent on defense like Minkah and Nelson and Haden (all 3) on a defense with an offense like the killer Bs? Seems like we are making moves too late. I fear our defense goes to top ten while the offense ends up bottom 10.

We rarely pick that high in the draft. It was a safe bet to assume that it would be mid round at best. Now they may change. But the only way this argument would make sense would be hindsight.

Totally agree. I really think the front office was thinking Minkah would be the piece to the puzzle to,have the defense help carry a first year QB thru the growing pains. But if it doesn’t work out, a top 5 pick was a steep price to pay. They took a shot, and we have to wait and see if it is boom or bust. And who knows, if Ben comes back as robo-QB after this surgery, with an improved defense, maybe they get #7. A lot of possibilities, but I don’t trust any good ones to happen with the current coaching staff.

We'll go 8-8, be in hunt for a WC and then lose to a division rival in some new way. It will be just enough for Rooney not to Sh!tcan Tomlin and this sorry ass BS will continue to eternity.

I don’t care if we win the Super Bowl. It’s time to move on from Tomlin.
