His agent will read some BS statement about how he’s getting counseling, rehab , or therapy. He’s seen his evil ways and has now found god.

NFL will line up ... yum yum gimmie sum. Heres a check$$$!

Thats because he wants to stay head coach. No one to succeed him or threaten his HC status

I think we’re going to find out a lot about Tomlin over the next several weeks. He has generally been at his best when leading the team through adversity. Just recently:
2014: 4 straight to end the season and win the division after looking out of it
2016: 9 straight after looking dead at 4-5
2018: Winning 6 straight after a 1-2-1 start. Beating Pats with our backs against the wall, then the players playing well enough to beat the Saints in their house (though ironically Tomlin’s own fake punt decision was one of the keys to the loss)

Where he has definitely done poorly is guiding the team through prosperity. I don’t need to list those recent failures.

The team is facing a ton of adversity right now. This is where Tomlin does his thing. We’ll see how it unfolds. My concern is: what happens if we pull out of the 0-2 start and get to a situation later in the year where the team is facing prosperity? I hope we get to find that out as well.

    The negatives are:

He is too much of a players coach. I would define this as meaning he wants to be more of a friend than boss. He avoids discipline too much and expects ALL the players to be professional. That approach may work with many, but not all. Sad to say it, but the role model should be Belicheat for NFL coaches. Do your job or you are out of here. If a player does his job at the best of his ability, THEN you treat that player with professional respect and less scrutiny. If you know you have a player who is underperforming, you put pressure on him to do his job at a higher standard. When you have a culture like that, you know as a player if you get lax and underperform, you will be found out quickly and soon not be playing there anymore. In a culture like that, players tend to self regulate more often because they know the consequences and the team benefits. We don`t have that culture and we need it.

He is lax about game preparation, specifically, motivating the team to win each week. The proof here is our record of playing sloppy against weaker opponents, also how we play in the early part of the season. Playing sloppy during these times is also linked to my first point. Players are not motivated enough during these times because it`s tolerated. Our culture is merely to be good enough to win most of our games, not to always play our best and win every game.

He is not the best tactician. Though this is the least worst thing, it counts. When you use coaches challenges. When you call time outs, etc.

He is who he is. He will not change. We should ask if we can live with this and that is a question the Rooney`s have to be the decider of.

The Steelers happen to have had (football analytics for about two to three years
now.) No what they need are scouts that know how to evaluate talent which they can
at certain positions. Secondary not so much.
