BREAKING: Minkah Fitzpatrick traded to Steelers

    Updated: Sep 16, 2019

On the heels of another young defensive stud requesting a trade, Minkah Fitzpatrick has had his wish granted.

The Miami Dolphins safety is being traded to the Steelers, along with a 2020 fourth-round pick and a 2021 seventh-round pick, in exchange for a first- and fifth-round pick in 2020 and 2021 sixth-round pick, per NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Yep!! Beat me to it my man!! Was just going to say that but I am TOO ECSTATIC right now!!

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Kevin Colbert did right with this one. Given the circumstances, it is truly put up or shut up time.

We need to utilize Minkah properly.

No nickel CB nonsense. We have Hilton and Sutton for that.

No in the box safety. We have Edmunds for that.

Let's move Minkah into a single high FS role. Let him see the field and react and make plays

This is a good move. He’s essentially the anti-Edmunds. Has actual football instinct, reacts to and plays the ball, is capable of patrolling half the field in two deep...it’s a great move.

    Here’s the deal,

We essentially made our 1st rd pick now rather then April. He is young and was considered one of the safest prospects coming out of school. He is a high character guy and talented. I normally don’t like the idea of trading our first round pick, but this seems to be an exception, guys like this don’t come up on the block often at all. 22 years old with 4 years of control, this is a perfect now and future move. For those of you wondering why we didn’t trade for Peterson a couple years ago, he is 29 and had a huge contract, those are moves that cause issues.

Im not so sure that Davis' play was that terrible. I could understand injury. Davis to IR?

Kelly wasn't ready to be a starter. Looks like Kelly needs more time to develop.

I think they are happy with Edmunds. I think Edmunds had an overall good game.

Time will tell how MF fits in with this defense. If he turns out to be a good/great FS then it will be worth the deal.

Since we are deep into crazy mode, imagine this. Mason plays like a franchise QB. Then we trade Ben during the off season for another top player or a 1st round pick. More crazy on the way?

Yes they certainly look it. I think both QBs have perfect passer rating vs this defense so far

Go back and watch the second TD pass to the Seahawks TE. Davis stays in the endzone as if protecting against the outside WR getting free and running across the back of the endzone when nobody is there and doesn't react to the wide open TE in front of him getting the ball until it was way late. That is a pretty basic play to miss. Yes he has shown better but he has also shown worse as well. His instincts are not where they need to be at this point in his game
