Yeah, it's called using late round picks that won't even make the team because players like Mata and Chik are untouchable no matter how pedestrian they are to move up for higher quality picks in the earlier rounds. I know this is a foreign concept to Steelers fans because losing #1 WR and Top 5 RB and a 2nd to move up 10 spots was groundbreaking. But that's what the Seahawks did to grab Metcalf two picks before us.

So your ridiculous take is based on assuming the Steelers had the opportunity to trade up? Sorry. That's every bit as ridiculous as there rest of it.

The whole 2nd round was people trading for position. Cardinals had the 30 pick and Metcalf went at 32. Steelers have a great relationship with them. They couldn't have traded the Cardinals a 4th or 5th to move up 4 spots? That's what the Seahawks did. No, we all know the Steelers didn't even try. Everybody was too excited about moving up 10 spots and the whole draft went to **** after that.

2018 may be a bad one if Edmunds does not improve. I had hopes but errr

That top 5 rb that had 3.1 yards per touch and is now getting an MRI on his shoulder? Not to mention the wr that hasn't played yet and is under investigation for sexual assault. Those guys?

Name a position where a rookie realistically was going to start on this team, besides Bush at ILB?

FS maybe if we realized the value of a competent one and drafted accordingly. That’s probably about it, besides long snapper ;)

Yeah this draft was deep at FS, they passed on all of them . It made it tougher once they traded their second round pick to Denver.

Wrong, with Haden and the signing of Nelson I doubt a rookie CB had any chance of starting. They aren't giving up on Edmunds yet.

Greedy Williams or deandre baker would start over Nelson. Nelson is no good. This is the NFL and teams play the best guys. Remember in russell Wilson's rookie year when the seahawks guaranteed all that money to matt Flynn and then started wilson over him? Nelson is not a ramsey, gilmore,Peterson, etc.. or someone of that caliber that even if a rookie outperformed them they'd still start because they are that good. But you're right on Edmunds because they still have yet to give up on bud dupree so it will be a while before they admit that bust. A free safety could have started as well.

Yup ,the trade up may have cost them some nice pieces. If Bush doesn’t pan out ,it’s a huge failure.

He will be solid. I'm unsure of his coverage skills on this level but he will definitely be a thumper in the run game.

Well he was traded up for and drafted because of his ability to cover. If our DL doesn’t keep him clean he isn’t going to be thumping anyone. He needs alleys to run through to make plays behind or at the LOS. All his tackles last game came beyond the LOS as far as I remember. He needs to be more than solid. He needs to be as close to what Shazier was quickly becoming. I’m talking within his first couple of years. You don’t trade that kind of equity in hopes you picked up someone solid.

Say what you want but we didn't get proper compensation for them. We fumbled that and the entire draft after the Bush pick.

We saved 14.5 million dollars for bell which we used on free agents this year. We got what we could for AB and didn't trade him to the patriots. We also get a comp pick for bell. We have 6 draft picks that made this team. It has turned out better then you make it out to be.

The first Dorsett TD was also on Edmunds (not the one in this breakdown), he bit on the play fake.

It was definitely Edmunds. He was slower to react than Mike Mitchell in his last season. Horrid play.

I don't see how that is Edmunds fault at all. He was covering the deepest man on his half of the field.
