Watching it now since it’s now televised on CW and it’s just brutal to sit there and listen to Tomlin talk about the entire Seattle team for like 15 minutes . Like no other coach does this at their press conferences. He stands there and says all this crap and then they go out and do nothing on the field. Like I said in a bunch of other threads if Tomlin fails to get this team to the playoffs this year the Rooney’s seriously need to consider making a coaching change. Listening to Tomlin at these press conferences ever week say the same things and absolutely nothing is just getting really tiresome.

If he says the same things every press conference, then why are you wasting your time listening to it?

Probably, like most people I imagine, you have to wade through the 12 minutes of nonsense to hopefully catch a tidbit of meaningful injury news etc.

I think Tomlin is definitely on a warm seat at the very least.

A non playoff season could force the Rooney’s hand.

That said, I still expect this team to be good this year despite Sunday’s embarrassment. We’ve seen that act before.

We're in a win win situation.. If the Steelers are good then that's a win. If there bad then bye bye tomlin.. That's a win. that's how I look at it

So how do you know what he said or for how long he talked about Seattle?

He actually sounded pretty optimistic about the injuries. He said Haden and Watt may be limited to start the week.

Nix has something (knee?) that may take some time... A week or 2. Guess that's why we didn't see him in those short yardage situations.

The Steelers play 6 of their next 8 at home so they need to go 6-2 in that stretch of games I think. Missing the playoffs this year should not be an option for Tomlin moving forward.

I just don't get fans who waste their time listening to it all the time, then they complain when the HC doesn't give the answer they want to hear. I don't listen to the press conferences myself, unless I have SNR on and they play it, you already know it will be cliches and coach speak.

They don’t use him when he is healthy anyway because the play calling on this team in short yardage whether it goes through Fitchner, Ben or Tomlin is beyond stupid and moronic and it pretty much costs the Steelers a chance in the game on Sunday in New England.

To be fair, if Nix was hurt earlier in the game, that may explain some of the play calling in short-yardage situations. Yes, this team does use the shotgun and spread the field too often in short yardage, but it makes more sense if Nix wasn't available.

A knee injury. Coach said he might miss a game or two. Must have have had his leg crossed for too long on the bench.

Seattle's D is better up front than NE's... but secondary is worse. Better hope the O-line shows up and Pouncey is close to 100%... or it's gonna be another long, frustrating game.

    Exactly.

Every one of his Tuesday pressers are the same. He comes out talking about the upcoming opponent, sums up the past game, gives an injury update, then wraps things up with "Questions."

And, of course, it's all coach speak. They all do it.

Steelers didn't have a win after 2 weeks last season. They did miss the playoffs, but it was more of the epic meltdown of the LA chargers, denver, and oakland that cost them. Before that they were sitting real pretty.

It's an NFC loss, not terrible but, they're not gonna be able to lose many more AFC games.
Almost have to sweep the Division.

Wait. He talked for 15 minutes about Seattle but you turned it off after 5 minutes? Are you sure you weren't just hearing cliches while dreaming?

They should play that as MT's walk up music to his press conferences each week.

I still expect this to be a good team. There are a lot of pieces in place. Playing NE in NE week 1 is a tough draw for anyone. So I am trying to remain optimistic.

As for Tomlin being on the hotseat, I have given up on that. As long as the Steelers put together at least a mediocre season, Tomlin is going to be here.

What about Pouncey? I went to bed at halftime because I couldn't stomach any more. Did he get injured?
