Tbh I was talking to my coach about this earlier this week. I said man I had blamed both parties but AB may have all along been the problem. But with this happening idk what to honestly say about the situation right noq. If hes a model citizen in NE and wins a ring what can we say? Alot of people said well we never won with him so if he wins without us how does that ultimately make us look?

Sadly yes... they had far and away the worst defense in FBS last year. I think their average points against were right around 50 points. Their one win was 56-49 vs an FCS team

Idk. We see players all the time go to NE for less money at the most probable chance for a ring. Idk it all seems too good to be true. We cant necessarily say because we reportedly would not deal him to NE under any circumstances and they were interested when he was on the trade block. It's very plausible he would have took less money to play with NE than oakland back in January. This all just seems to coincidental to not have already been in the works behind the scenes prior to it happening.

    "Message board victory?" :lolol:

Im not looking for 'victories.' Evidently you are and that's the problem here. That and you forming your opinions based on how many fantasy points Brown will earn.

The Steelers chose pushing the chaos and drama aside in the interest of the overall team, and sent him to Oakland.

The Raiders reached the same conclusion.

And if AB continues doing what he did in Pittsburgh and Oakland, the Patriots will do the same too.

Those are the facts and final proof that the Steelers did the right thing.

Every single team in the NFL has a limit for personal conduct and character in relation to production and will act similarly. You admitted this several dozen pages ago, so really the case is closed and there's nothing more to be said about it. The discussion was really over at that point.

So keep forming opinions based on fantasy football by yourself, while I and everyone else will live in the real world.

    Good day.....

    Who knows what will happen.

But AB got $9M guaranteed with the potential to earn $6M more. Im sure everything will be peachy-keen for the first several weeks or even months. But the Patriots have transitioned back to a more balanced offense. There just won't be as many passes thrown in New England as there was in Pittsburgh and Brown will be competing for those balls with a couple of other very good WRs, one of which is TBs best buddy and security blanket. It will be interesting to see what happens in week 12 when the Pats are 11-1 but Brown has only 60 catches for 750 yards with 4 TDs and is in serious jeopardy of missing his $6M in incentives. The Pats better strap down the Gatorade coolers just in case.

So basically AB and the Patriots colluded and he demanded a release to be able to determine where he wanted to play the whole time. Pats are bigger than the NFL this league is going to **** and quick. What a Fing joke.

Anything is possible. But to believe that this whole thing was orchestrated from the get-go is a big stretch.

Remember AB throwing crap out of a hotel and almost killing a baby. He’s a mental case and the pats do Anything to win.

Losing to them before does not guarantee that we will lose again. This is a different team. There is nothing inevitable in our matchups.

Why didn't AB just sink the trade to the Raiders like he did the one to the Bills? He could have kept doing so and eventually been released and signed with the Patriots. I don't get the need to sign a big guaranteed contract with the Raiders and then muck about with them for a few months before forcing them to cut him. Seems awfully convoluted if his goal all along was simply to get to New England.

Or, it the end game was to get released by whoever the Steelers traded him to, why not just go to Buffalo? If step 1 is to get out of Pittsburgh, then why sabotage the sure thing?

That assumes that AB's plan now is the same as 6 months ago.
Who knows what his plan will be in another month...

Belichick is a disciplinarian like most NFL coaches: with fringe players, or with players that he can replace. Since he is the best coach in the league, that makes more players replace-able than on other teams.

When Hernandez was a team problem (before the arrest), Belichick kept talking about things he was going to do, but he never got around to doing them.

I'm sure we'll hear that the Pats are fining Brown (tiny amounts) for showing up late at meetings, to save face, but the punishments won't be more than that as long as Brown helps their passing game.

At most, Belichick reached out during the Raiders meltdown and told his agent that AB has a place to go if he gets himself released. Belichick and Mayock are very good friends though so he'd have to be willing to screw a friend over. Not out of the realm of possibility.

To think this was planned from the start though, is full on tinfoil hat territory.

Belichick most likely cost himself a SB by benching one of his best DB's. The guy doesn't bend.

And to think AB could handle being fined even tiny amounts is pretty unbelievable after everything we have witnessed over the last year. He has a God complex.

It was widely reported back when we were shopping AB, and has been mentioned in articles and sportscasts that I’ve seen last night and this morning.

Its plausible. They were interested in january and obviously there was nothing they could offer that would have made us trade AB to them. So because of how prideful he is, he acts like everything is gravy in oakland and pulls all these stunts to get released. Seriously remember he threatened to retire over the helmet? He probably thought they'd cut him then but they didnt so he went on a rampage about fines that he rightfully got for missing practices. This is too coincidental to be true and bill and co trusted AB to give him the money they did. They clearly knew this was all a ploy.

It was reported. Of course they didnt come out and say it but they said the steelers refused to trade him to any inner conference rival.

Of course tampering went on, it always does. Anyone that doesn't believe unofficial conversations happen behind the scenes is very naive. It happens in every corporate setting on earth.

There's official meetings to discuss official business, then there's all the backroom conversations that actually lay the foundation for stuff to get done.

I would bet money that every team in the NFL has tampered on a regular basis. All the team execs and agents know each other well. There's always conversations and meetings happening.

Do I believe the Pats tampered by them letting AB's agent know they are interested in him, yes. Do I think it was some elaborate plan to get released just so he could become a Pat? No. Maybe within the last few days that plan was there, but that's about it. I

Brown has consistently proven that he cannot think ahead more than a couple seconds. He's the only human being that got frostbite in the summer. Does anyone really think he could orchestrate or even participate in a long term con like this? His luck will run out eventually and Rosenhaus can only polish a turd so many times...

Reported, but not by the Steelers, who owner and GM both said they were 'open to all offers'. Why would they publicly pigeonhole themselves like that, and what if a rival offered their next 3 first round picks, Steelers wouldn't jump?...
