Special teams. Holton will be a gunner most likely. I expect Skipper to be put on the practice squad.

I rarely get upset with these moves anymore but thats dumb, IMO.

I mean I like that Holton is on the 53 but why release Skipper? Could easily let Dirty Red go.

This is another in the long line of guys putting together a solid camp forcing themselves on to the 53 and Tomlin cutting them loose. I expect the litany of complaints that we heard about Thomas to be brought up again.

Is there a space moving move we are missing? Someone to IR before they can add Skipper back?? Something doesn't add up here.

I think they did this because they think Ola is healthy. Hopefully he clears waivers to get to PS

Maybe this is a message being sent about his alleged lack of practice enthusiasm?

It is just crazy, no way is ola ready to dress or is Chick at 100% so cutting a guy that could contribute makes zero sense unless he failed a drug test or something

Because Dirty Red will actually play and be a significant part of special teams. If Ola is healthy Skipper wasn't even going to be active for the game. But I'm glad people are finally getting their annual freak out over some guy who will likely never do anything in the NFL.

Dirty red sucks. I don’t care about his special teams 5 tackles.

    Lol I’m just bitter

Like I said, I rarely get upset about these things, he just seemed different.

    Red is grossly overrated, IMO

I think it probably has to do with a comment by one of the coaches about his work ethic.

But hey, can you work your prognosticating skills and give me the lotto numbers??? I'd appreciate that

Before writing him off, think about how many other quality players on our roster (and throughout the league) are undrafted guys who proved themselves in camp and preseason. Tuzar kicked quite a bit of ass in the preseason this year.

It could happen for sure but it is much more likely not to happen. Let's wait for another team to at least put him on their team before we freak out. Almost every time a player like this is cut it does not come back to haunt us.

We had 1-2 too many lbs on our roster to begin with so I am cool with letting one go but not the guy who shined the most in recent play. Ola and Red would be on the chopping block before Skipper if it was my call. I need to look into these reports of him not being motivated in practice, though.

Glad to see Holton back. 5 wrs seemed like too few.

Ola practiced all week, Skipper would've been inactive for the Pats game.

I'd have dressed Skipper and let Ola have another week to be close to 100% . Now you have a guy coming off a knee scope with one week of practice as your backup which means Chick will be the primary and he was banged up in PS gm3 right? That is taking a risk but then again what do I know maybe Ola gets in and destroys Brady.

I sure hope Tuvok clears waivers and makes it to the PS. From what I saw in preseason I think he has a motor to him and I’d like to see him develop in a Steeler jersey.
