Are you saying that AB going to Oakland and getting adult supervision somehow makes Tomlin look better? Ponder this question: What if Tomlin disciplined AB right off the bat like Mayock did, would he still be on our team with a much different attitude? Or, would he still be the headcase we think he is and we would have moved on long ago and not dragged this team through the gutter?

We moved on at about the right time honestly. AB was a stud for us pretty much right up until the end. I'm not giving that away early just because at the very end it was ugly. To me what's already happened with the Raiders and AB before he even played a game for them makes the way Tomlin handled AB even more impressive, not less. Tomlin managed to keep this psycho performing at a high level for years.

When Mason Rudolph becomes a legit franchise QB and Steelers win #7 with Roethlisberger or Rudolph... then I will change my opinion of Mike Tomlin. Both of those are possible when Tom Brady and Bill Belichick retire.

It's logical to believe that if the Steelers had disciplined AB right out of the gate he would be a better person, better team-mate, and bigger contributor to team unity. And it certainly wouldn't have impaired his God-given abilities!

I just hope the offense resembles nothing like that of the Bears. That was hard to stomach. Reminded me of the Mark Malone years.

And that was my first bet of the season. And first loss:( I was so confident the Bears would be firing on all cylinders.

Come on man. AB knows exactly what he is doing. He will push the envelope until there are consequences. Now that there are consequences, I bet he tries to walk it back and make excuses. We have seen it too many times. This dumdum has the gall to say, you gave me a letter and can't talk to me like a man face to face??? WTF. NFL teams MUST notify in writing of a fine - it is a requirement. For Brown to believe that doesn't apply to him is not reasonable. He knows that. Every NFL player knows that. This dude is playing everyone. Don't excuse sh!tty behavior. He knows better now and he knew better when he was 22.

Aaron Rodgers was rusty as hell. Tom Brady will be even more rusty... and Ben even more. It's gonna be a long Sunday night.

First of all the post was in regard to the general premise that just because someone is 22 years old they are an adult. As far as AB, I honestly don't know if he knows what he is doing. If the Raiders cut him, one of their fears (aside from the lengthy legal battle) is that he sign with another AFC West team and hurt them. But one thing is pretty certain, if they cut him he will probably never get another contract guaranteeing him $30M. I think he is severely delusional and certainly not "playing everyone".

I think the only smidgeon of logic, intelligence, posturing, or strategy coming out of the AB camp is coming from Rosenhouse and not AB. Ryan Clark said he is totally unaware of the world around him and I believe that.

But where you started was that Colbert and Tomlin were responsible for ABs selfish and destructive behavior. While I agree they gave him way too much latitude, AB created the monster himself and he owns his own behavior. Not KC, MT, me, you, or Drill Sgt Hartman.

I agree that the Steelers inherited a spoiled brat but it cannot be denied that they exacerbated the spoiling of that brat as opposed to curtailing it.

I guess we will just agree to disagree:thumbs_up:

I agree with that but that wasn't the point. You are saying that anyone of a certain age has reached adulthood and should be treated as such. I simply believe adulthood comes at very widely differing ages based on many outside factors.

I knew when all the so called gurus were picking Da Bears it was time to bet on the Packers. I will be collecting my money from the casino first thing this morning after dropping the kids off at school.

How do you feel they should have curtailed it? Its not working too well for the Raiders.

At least Tomlin got 9 very productive years out of him.

I had a FMTI as my sig all offseason but I can give him credit for handling this better than any of us originally thought.

Bad analogy. Mayock is not the head coach. So far, Gruden hasn't done any more about Brown than Tomlin did. Who knows? Maybe Tomlin wanted to do something but was overridden by Colbert, or Rooney. It'll all come out eventually. I can see Brown going full "TO" "They love to hate me!"

AB was well set in his ways by the time the Raiders got him! None of us knows what goes on behind closed doors and what it takes to manage out of control nit-wits like AB but it just seems logical to me that if the Steelers had been a little more disciplinarian in the beginning he would have turned out a bit more manageable. But then you are asking a coach who is known for his lack of discipline to be a disciplinarian......so I see your point. But this just fuels my fire with AR and KC, sadly!
