To me Rudolph looks like an NFL QB. He passes the eye test. Dobbs not so much. Dobbs to me is a normans slash.

Rudolph started slow today but to be fair his team mates were dropping everything

He can make a great throw and just when you become a believer he makes a mistake that a middle school QB wouldn't make.

2nd half of this game will determine if there is a battle for the 3rd string QB position.

I definitely think Rudolph has more control of the offense when he is in there. Dobbs has a better deep ball, and can run his ass off. Rudolph is better at everything else. That pick ruin what was a pretty good couple of minutes for Dobbs.

Agree, but preseason can be unpredictable.

Rudolph looked very impressive, good pocket presence and awareness, good anticipation on his throws and squeezed the ball into some tight windows.

Dobbs has made some great throws and some horrible ones. Doesn’t look quite as comfortable, but does bring the running element to the position which we saw last week.

I’d say Rudolph has the edge so far.

I feel like Rudolph and Dobbs are fairy close. That being said, that give Mason the edge. What he needs, is more playing time. If cutting Dobbs saves any money, might be worth the risk.

Good assessment. Rudolph is the more natural QB, and Dobbs the more natural athlete. Spot on about #2's pocket presence and his eyes are always downfield.

For those not watching the local Pittsburgh CBS feed, Tomlin was pretty pleased with Rudolph's performance, and mentioned the early drops.

I think Dobb's just needs more game Reps ...Plus I am not sure if the WR was not supposed to sit down on that route ? Coaches still not doing Dobb's any favors , call the boot or waggle or option stuff when in tight quarters ...

Yeah. End of 1st half a microcosm of Dobbs. Throws a deep ball, but later a pick near end zone on shorter throw. Dobbs probably has one heck of a career passer rating for throws over 20 yards, LOL.
