    Oh.

Well then. In that case, guess this thread will be continually necrobumped until Big Boss decides enough is enough then.

Formally requesting an admin to change from bush to Justin layne in title. Project CB that early in the draft was a bad idea. Layne will be a bust. Book it

Not trying to jump the thread here but, the OP of the Franco thread sure wasted a ton of time on film study. You form an opinion after you've researched a subject. Not form an opinion, then pick and choose whichever stats/film fit the narrative.

    :hmm:

Or...! You could change the title via the edit function within the Thread Tools option! A much better alternative than to ask for an admin. Besides, a lot less work for you in the long run.

Side Note: Too early to write off Justin Layne. Still needs development.

Formally requesting an admin to change from bush to IKE TAYLOR in title. Project CB that early in the draft was a bad idea. IKE TAYLOR will be a bust. Book it

(I was looking at Taylor's Wikipedia page. "His selection was made despite his inexperience and lack of consistent play... At the time of the selection, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writer Mark Madden claimed Taylor was the worst pick in history.")

Layne and Bush could end up both being busts or flat out outstanding. Who the hell knows after one POS preseason game. I don't know what Bush will do but what I've seen so far he has good football instincts and great wheels. So, the potential is definitely there and we'll have to see if he can develop into the defensive scheme. A concern is will he be coached properly to take advantage of his skills? I'd be more doubly concerned if Joey Porter were still on the staff.

Well since Porter coached the outside linebackers that wouldn’t really have mattered.

Colbert said they aren't expecting Layne to play much this season, they know he's raw and would prefer to bring him along slowly.

Yeah, its not like it was a very well explained post. You seemed to be implying that a player can't succeed at that weight in 2019.

    I pointed out they could.

So what the hell are you talking about?

No, that's not what I said. I was trying to explain the difference between a 200 pound player in the 70s versus now.

Can Layne play a few more preseason games before we condemn him to the dust bin of poor Steelers draft picks? Jeez.

You really haven't explained anything other than to point out what year it is. I'm not trying to be difficult, I really don't know what your point is if it wasn't to imply that a lighter player in the 70's had an easier time succeeding than a lighter player today.

Are you concerned about Bush being able to succeed at his listed weight?

@Blast Furnace do you remember the thread that started Shazier's rookie year I think it was where he had a monster game wit like 13 tackles with 3 for loss, a pass defense or two but ended up being hurt towards the end of the game. The following week and the reason for the thread was that Shazier couldn't go and VWILL played out of his mind. He flew around making plays everywhere getting like 11 tackles, the highlight being one where he closed on the RB on a backside sweep and made a heck of a shoestring tackle to trip him up and drop him for a loss on the play. Then we had a multipage thread about why they could drop Shazier or IR him because Vince was just as good. This thread reminds of that one except now 10 tackles in a half is being cast as a bad thing.

Yeah, 10 tackles a half is overrated. That means during the course of a 16 game season he would only end up with 320 tackles.
