Tevin Jones...could this be the year he makes the 53 man roster ?

Could Dobbs and Rogers bring anything in a trade? We save 1 million if Rogers goes. We are tight on money so it could be a deciding factor.

A team may go for Rogers like we did Switzer. I wouldn’t expect anything too high in return, but maybe something is better than losing promising talent for nothing.

Eli does have worth. Not every team has talent stacked like we do at receiver.

What sort of worth would you take, mac?

If it was a 5th for Rogers I’d take it.

Just chiming in....but a 5th would be great but unexpected. Even a 7th would be fine imo. A lot of teams find their kickers/punters and STers with those late round picks. Plus you don't have to fight all 31 teams for those UDFAs if a guy you like is on the board. I think a 7th round pick has more value than what is implied by the trade value chart. Plus it helps packaging multiple 7ths if you want to move up in the later rounds.

    Certainly don’t disagree on this.

I wouldn't worry about Jones being claimed off the PS, the Steelers will be just fine at WR if that happens.

I'd love that but maybe a 6th. I like Eli but I think he will be wasted sitting deep on the depth chart.

Rogers had one good season and has done very little the last two, only in part due to injuries. No team is giving up a fifth-rounder for him. I don't see why he would have any trade value at all, but sometimes you get lucky enough to find a stupid trading partner.

Yeah Vikings fans around me are literally perplexed at giving up a 5th round pick next year for a kicker who had one good season then got hurt for all of last season. They are banking on him returning to form. So there is always someone who would rather give up that late round pick than wait on a wavier claim.

It happens, but certainly not always.

I read on CBS that the kicker may also serve as their punter. It would be nice to save a roster spot by having a versatile kicker who can do both.

You are probably right...would just hate to lose a up and coming receiver with height.
