Change those to names of head coaches and that would be a Chargers jersey!

I don't think the Browns are ready to win the division or contend this year, but they are better, they have some talent, are they are not a joke.

It would not surprise me if the game in Cleveland this year turns into a major beating by the Browns on Pitt. Years of frustration getting their revenge in a single afternoon. In any case, they will give the Steelers a couple of tough games this year.

All our division games will be tougher this year. We better not take any of them lightly. Our whole schedule this year is full of teams that think they can. We better go into them thinking no they can't and then prove it.

Agree about not taking anyone lightly. I haven’t seen too much improvement with the Bengals on paper... we’ll see I guess.

This thread is so funny. However, I noticed they changed the way they go about things a few years ago about how they build their team, doing it smarter. This off season was their last phase of the rebuild and we wait to see what result they get. Even if they have a few years above .500, it will be tough for them to transition to a yearly contender after that.

To be a yearly contender will depend on Mayfield's play. A franchise QB can make a team a contender for years. Of course you need a bunch of other players, but the QB is often the hardest to find.

If he has another good season this year, I'll agree. I'm not ready to anoint him just yet

He is the best QB the Browns have had since Kosar. Their meddling disfunctional owner is still there though.

The Browns have stockpiled some talent on both sides of the ball but for team as bad for so long as the Browns the question is depth. A team almost never goes without injuries and the consistent strong teams eg. Steelers build their reserves as much as their starters.

The Browns could very good or a couple of injury's could sink them because they haven't built that strength of roster.

I think that's why there are always teams that go from 6 and 10 to 10 and 6 in one year and everyone says they are the next contender only to watch them fall back to 7 and 9.

We had a lot of talent last year. Chemistry was lacking and that’s to be determined with the Browns

BTW, basements make great foundations and the Browns certainly embody that in recent years

One thing about the browns that people forget is they had a bad defense last year and they lost there 2nd 3rd and 4th best defensive players... pretty much there only good defensive players and the D cord............

I partly disagree. I think Garrett and Denzel Ward were their #1 and #2 defensive players last year. They added Olivier Vernon and Sheldon Richardson up front, which i think is an improvement to the D line. The rest of the defense is still average to below average though, I agree on that.

Vernon is garbage and always hurt.... Your not serious with sheldon richardson? Every team he is on they cant wait to get rid of him and another big mouth that does not even try on some downs... collins and peppers were there second and 3rd best players behind garrett......... collins a huge loss...............

Collins was so good that he got a 1 year, $2 million “prove it” contract when he hit free agency this year. Vernon has been one of the most consistent DEs in generating pressure over the past few seasons despite being the #1 focus of opponents’ pass blocking. He will have Garrett to take the focus off of him, which will make him more of a concern. His injury history isn’t bad. He has had injuries the past two seasons that he recovered from. Prior to that he had 80+ consecutive starts. Richardson had a very solid season in Minnesota last year. He was in the middle of a defense that gave up only 84 ypg rushing, and was better than what the Browns were fielding at DT last season. He is a bit hit or miss, but he can play when he wants to - and with $12 million base salaries in 2020 and 2021 he should be motivated to play well enough to make the Browns keep him under contract.

You’re seriously saying that you think Peppers and Collins are better players than Pro Bowl corner Denzel Ward?
