What new Player do you think will have the biggest positive impact on this team for the 2019 season? Whether they were acquired in FA or through the draft.

I voted Moncrief. I think he balls out and has a great year. Veteran, so he is familiar with the NFL and has the deep speed and height Ben likes. I'm pretty excited about this guy.

Devin Bush. Not even COLLOSALLY close.

Devin Bush will decide if Pittsburgh can push forward deep into the playoffs. Historically under the Colbert Era, since 2000, Pittsburgh has only traded twice in the First Round; Troy Polamalu being the First and Santonio Holmes being the next. Furthermore, Pittsburgh has not been into Top 10 Territory (trade or otherwise) since 2000.

If Troy Polamalu is ANY indication, Devin Bush Jr. is the "Next One". Clearly Colbert and Art Rooney II see something in Bush that forced their hand to trade up. Tomlin said himself that Bush has been watched by the team since 2017.

Bush will take this defense, in my opinion, back to a Top Five Defense in terms of Points Allowed, 3rd Down Efficiency, Redzone Efficiency and most importantly, turnovers. He is THAT big of what I would call a "Force Player". That in it of itself will be IMMENSE in Pittsburgh's return to the postseason.

I voted Moncrief on the basis that we are talking about the upcoming 2019 season. I like him and I think he can make a difference this upcoming season.

Long term it’s Bush without a single shadow of a doubt. I hope he has an impact in 2019 but know he is a rookie and may need time to adapt.

For 2019 it’s Nelson. He (along with Haden) gives us a quality tandem at outside corner for the first time in god-knows-how-long.

I should have specified in my OP. I was thinking of only the 2019 season.

does your answer change or remain the same if you are only looking at the 2019 season?

    Remains the same.

Again, very seldom does Pittsburgh trade up in the First Round. Only two other times has that happen in the past 19 years. Devin Bush Jr. HAS big expectations; ones I believe he can fulfill.

I am picking Moncrief, we need to replace the TD's that left when AB left.
If he can replace 8 of them then we are on the right track. The other players will
have to pick up their game also.

I voted Nelson. Tightening up the secondary is going to be key to letting the new LB corps do what they can do. It may not be a “bang” kind of impact on its own, but solid coverage is going to enable them to happen.

Aww, ya beat me to it. Hey, I'll be happy if they are 100% off the field on 3rd and 10+, and I think just decent, average secondary play will facilitate that. I think they have that now with a solid vet opposite JH and some young, hungry kids at safety.

I voted Bush. He will give us sideline to sideline speed & I don't think Moncrief will play all 16 games. (He is fragile)

I really hope it is Bush, but I went with Moncrief because I think he steps in and helps the WR spot a lot.

I voted who it needs to be and that is Bush. If Moncrief doesn't get it done, you still have Washington and Johnson as possibilities. If Bush doesn't get it done ...

I hope they all exceed expectations, but I had to vote Bush. Not only is he filling a huge void, but if he were to fizzle out, I'm afraid a number of people on this board heads would explode considering we traded up to get him and could have taken (insert name here).

Ahhh yes I see now why bud is still here, we are waiting and watching some kid in 8th grade as the next OLB. :smiley1:

There is way too much hype about bush. Way too much used to get him. He better be all-pro. Sounds like hard headed butler is going to find a way to play Vince with bush. Barron may have more game then all of them I think. Butler still running the show is my biggest fear. I think he could screw up a two car funeral up a one way alley. As for bush, he has a long way to go before we start to talk about him being the next troy like player. Something he's never done in his life and now is going to do it in the pros. I'm taking the Missouri approach. Show me.

I don’t think he’ll even have the biggest impact among new receivers in 2019. I think that will be Moncrief.

I think AQL stat line will be pretty accurate but I hope Monncrief or Washington can do even better. JuJu will get his numbers and if another one can go over 1,000 yards plus around 800 for DJ, that's real good production.

The real worth is it they can catch those two hard passes and break tackles for another 30 on each catch. If not what good are they? :hehehe::cool:
