Really?? Unless my eyes is lying I'm looking at his YouTube highlights ...it's very not impressive ...all the WR's are catching the ball on him

"...was recruited as a receiver, but was switched to d-back." Translation: He couldn't catch a cold.

He's more willing to hit than Williams, but it won't take NFL coaches long to torture the kid with the kind of inside routes he couldn't seem to stop in college.

Cannot believe he made it that far! I thought he would be gone in the late first or even early second. Glad we got him!

Actually, what I've been hearing and reading is he actually has pretty good ball skills. Just in the highlights I've seen, he seems to play the ball better than Taylor did.

I worry that he may not be ready to play much as a rookie, but I thought it was a good value late in the third round. Hell, if he becomes the player Taylor was, I'd certainly take it.

A position of need. Will this finally be Colbert's revenge? We can only hope.

If you're going to draft a position of need, maybe avoid a guy with the word "raw" coming up in most of the scouting reports. Didn't we hear that about Artie Burns, too?

I do like the pick, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if we don't see much of him on the field this season, especially with the addition of Nelson through free agency.

I like the pick. It's a position of need, and he was the best corner available. I still cant believe Murphy lasted until the 2nd round. Man would it have been nice to land him.

He was a good pick in the 3rd round has size and real potential to become a solid starting corner and he had 15 pass breakups last year:

    From Draft Network:

    • A highly-regarded wide receiver recruit, Layne transitioned to cornerback as a freshman and developed into a shutdown defender in college. Given his length, play strength, ball skills and route anticipation ability, Layne is best used in a press/man role at the next level. He has the physical upside to excel in zone but he must develop in terms of spacing and route awareness. A physical player, Layne is disruptive early in routes and at the catch point while playing with no hesitation when needed to play through contact and make a tackle. Layne should be an eventual starter with a fairly high ceiling as he continues to learn the nuances of the cornerback position.

Some say he reminds some of Ike Taylor. I disagree. This kid can actually catch something. To me, he reminds me a bit of Nnamdi Asomugha.

tts a great pick. You don't even know anything about him accept what some app told you his rank was, incorrectly I might add.
