I believe they traded down a few spots in round 1 to get Casey Hampton in 2001?? I don't know this for sure? This is what I am contemplating in the original thread then with draft capital
    move up in 2nd round.

Agreed. Every year we talk about trade down scenarios. The Steelers just never do it. And sitting at #20 this year, we are going to get a really good player. I do t see it happening.

Your correct they traded their 16 pick to the jets for their 19 pick to draft hampton and they got the jets 4th round and 6th round pick in the trade as well, they have traded up and down in the first round but they only traded out of the first round in 67 The last time they traded away their first-round draft pick was in 1967 when they acquired tight end Tony Jeter and defensive lineman Lloyd Voss from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for their 9th overall pick.

My lock of a prediction is that Seattle will trade down from pick #21. It’s going to happen. The only question in my mind is whether they trade down again before making their first selection (50/50 in my view).

I see New England as a potential trade partner for Seattle at #21, especially if Daniel Jones is still available. I wonder if they would go even higher to get him.

If you need a QB this year, you are in deep doo doo. Slim pickins....A lot on the shorter side too.

Gil Brandt, who is as good a draft guru as there is, said something to the effect that Daniel Jones can become Peyton Manning. Couple that with the fact that the Pats had him in form a visit, and I'm connecting a few dots to speculate that the Pats may see him as a potential successor to Brady.

I haven't scouted QBs really at all, but Jones seems like one of the ones that may succeed. Really though, there doesn't seem like much...Jones, Haskins, Murray, Finley and Grier. Either way I'm glad we have Dobbs and Rudolph.

I have been hearing draftniks connecting Jones to the Giants at #17, because Jones college coach also coached Eli Manning.

I heard the same that the Giants are pretty high on him. I don't know if they can take the chance of waiting though. I think they will need to take him at 6 or someone else will.

Not if the likes of New York or even Washington have something to say about it. Washington especially. Among the teams I believe that will trade up, the Redskins are definitely it.

For all I know, they could be the team that moves "Heaven and Earth" to get him. I doubt Dwayne Haskins will be available either as I suspect Cincy trades up to get him too.

Yeah, if there's that much interest in Jones, the Giants would probably want to secure him at 6... unless the Raiders are interested at the 4th pick. There could be some intrigue around Mr. Jones Thursday night.

I am rooting for Jones to go in the Top 20. If that happens, it increases the likelihood of someone we want falling to us.

Seattle just picked up another 1 pick from the chiefs in a pretty sweet trade for them:

The Seahawks have traded defensive end Frank Clark to the Chiefs. Seattle will receive a 2019 first-round pick and a 2020 second-round pick in the deal. The two teams will exchange third round draft picks in the 2019 NFL draft. The Chiefs also agreed to a five-year, $105.5 million deal with Clark. (Adam Schefter, ESPN)

Yes, my prediction was pre-trade. Not sure what they do now. They may trade up to get an edge rusher now.

Seattle need a corner as well as an edge rusher afaik, if the board falls their way they can get two very good players here.

They have made some very good moves this off season

Maybe we can somehow entice them to take Dupree for a 5th?

I predict Devin Bush at 10 or 11 with a trade up. After that I have no clue or desire to speculate.

Hope you mean White. I’m not in favor of that either but definitely not for Bush. Lot of broken TVs if that happens.

I think they trade up but not in the first. Will be in the 2nd to grab Love.

It's a crapshoot where White goes. He may be there at 10 just because of falling due to other talent/needs. As for Bush, if he falls past 10 I wouldn't be surprised the Steelers trade up a bit to snab him.

And with seeing how many picks they have, I wouldn't mind that. I'd be extremely happy if they found a way to obtain Devin White. I just don't see that happening. Most do not believe Devin Bush will be there at 20.

Neither should be top 20 players. Bush or white.

it like being the best two on the freshmen team and picking them up for the varsity. Weak ILB class. If we do its a panic pick. They run fast that's all.
