I would like this. I doubt it seriously.

    1. Brian burns OLB Fla.St.
    2. Mack Wilson ILB bama
    3. Vosean Joseph ILB Fla.
    3. Trayvon Mullen CB clem.
    4. Antoine wesley wr tex.tech

    I'll leave it at that.

burns is well worth the first round for us. Dupree or not, this kid creates. I think with watt, this could become the best tandem in the league.

Wilson I believe has so much more upside than bush. Not as fast but in the long run he will be better and more consistent.

Joseph is our double up ILB. He has a lot to work with. I think both are better than what we have.

Mullen is a very solid pick. He will eventually replace haden down the road. Would give us a very strong defensive backfield.

Wesley is by far the top wr when it comes to catch concentration on 50/50 balls and combative catches. Not a burner but solid speed and good hieght. Pretty good wr blocker too. May need to put on some size but in the NFL they can do that with him.

Their are some good defensive players at Clemson. Ferrell could drop for some reason. Wilkins is a stud. I would also take hunter renfroe cause all he does is get open and catch the ball lol

Assuming White, Bush Jr. and Burns are gone by pick 20 and if Christian Wilkins is available, he is worth the pick. That definitely would be interesting given the fact that the team already has the likes of Tuitt, Hargrave and Heyward. Still, adding another quality defensive lineman who can do so much is not a bad investment.

Unless Pittsburgh is truly shifting back to the 4-3, stay away from Clelin Ferrell. 4-3 base end only. Dropping him in coverage is asking for trouble.

I really loved Ferrell just by watching him over the past few seasons. Now since I've got back and watched some more tape on him I have a few more concerns.

Still think he is a quality 1 st round 4-3 DE as you mentioned.

    Same.

He still will be able to get it done at the next level for sure. He appears though to be more of a power based run stopping defensive end as opposed to a terror off the edge like I thought. Much of that power though has to do with his technics, not explosiveness. That will give him some trouble; his length no less. 33 inch arms simply will not cut it anymore. Too many offensive tackles exceeding that threshold coming into the league.

    Still better than most though.

Kind of what I'm leaning towards right now:

    1. S Nasir Adderly
    2. LB Germaine Pratt
    3a.RB Justice Hill
    3b. OLB Sutton Smith

I think Adderly is there for us if we want him.

Pratt is 50/50 to still be there for us in the 2nd round and I like him more than Bush and Mark Wilson. He's no slouch athletically and he has size.

3a. Ultimately I think Hill goes in round 2. So athletic and explosive. I think he is that Kamara type back who can really help in the pass game. If he did fall to us here I would jump on him.

3b. He's undersized but highly productive. I hope we give him a good look.

We can then round out our roster with a TE, CB, OL and DL.

Yes, I see it this way too. I thought just by watching him that he possessed a lot of the same traits as Bradley Chubb. But more tape and measurables just show that's not the case. Pretty sure half his sacks last year came against TEs and RBs .

Agree. He benefitted from a fantastic interior defensive line. I would be leery of him in the 1st even if I were drafting for a 4-3 defense.

Just don't forget that our TEs after Vance are Grimble and Jake McGee.

If Hockenson is there at #20, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if we take him.

I like Adderley for the Steelers, but they don't draft players from the small schools in the first round lately, Ben was the last one. Adderley is exactly what they need in the secondary, the thing with Pratt and Adderley is if they don't take them at #20, they probably won't be there at #52. That's why they needed to get a second round pick for AB .

I doubt he goes in the 1st round but I think he will emerge as one of the top ILBs of this class.

I don't doubt that but he has issues to work on as do the rest of this class. I like Pratt but not at 20.

    Thoughts on us signing Barron?

Still like ILB in round #1? Bush and Barron. 2 undersized but athletic guys.

I don't know, I'm not use to all these FA moves.

Biggest needs may now be FS and TE.

I really think Colbert and Co want Hockenson.

I HATE the Barron signing. He’s been a mediocre player his entire career. The Rams finally figured out that they overpaid him, and cut him, and low and behold he ends up here

He was pretty good from 2015-2017. And by that, I mean better than Bostic. And he was part of a defense that led them to the SB last year.

He was not a good safety but he has been a pretty good WLB/ILB. Steelers seem committed to undersized ILBs and bigger safeties.

Barron should have 2 good seasons left in him.
