The 28th was FSU's pro day, I didn't see it posted that the Steelers had a representative there. Doesn't mean much I'm sure they've seen Burn's film.

Washington's pro day is today for the Byron Murphy fans. We'll see if anyone was reported to visit.

I still can't find Byron Murphy's results ANYWHERE. Wtf?

I saw an interview where he said he ran the agility drills, so he should have some numbers.Don't know if he ran the 40 or not? You would think he would with those numbers. Unless he believes he ran as fast as he could. I'd hate to think that.

Interesting. I like Rapp’s tape, and I think he can be a good pro. We’ll see what the 40 time does to his draft stock (which was probably 2nd round before his pro day).

Yeah, I saw this article too. I’ve watched much of the tape that’s out there on him, and I think he has a shot at being really good. I know it’s cliche, but he reminds me a lot of Clay Matthews as a young player - and not just because of the long blonde hair flailing about when he’s making plays. He has that same combination of speed, power, skill and all out effort that Clay had in his early 20’s. The only thing is that I haven’t seen any significant film of him dropping into coverage because of Michigan’s scheme. The athleticism is there.

I feel pretty sure he’ll be gone by our 2nd round pick. If we want him, it will need to be well before pick #50 IMO.

After watching more film, if I had it to do over again he would have gotten my vote for the Steelers 2nd rounder in our mock.

One of the concerns with Winovich may be his age. He's already 24. How much of that domination can be attributed to almost a man against boys scenario?

On a seperate note I was just reading that RBs are currently leading the position groups scheduled for pre draft visits. How serious do you guys think we are about selecting a RB? How early do you think we may realistically go? Duke Johnson has requested a trade. Maybe he can be had for one of our 6ths....thoughts?
IMO RB should be a bit of a concern considering Conners health issues. I actually have Justice Hill with our second third rounder in my own mock.

I still don't see the need for drafting OLB in the first 2 rounds this year, but I wouldn't be upset if they got him with our 2nd rounder. He loves that push-pull move vs OTs and I'm not sure how effective that will be vs NFLers but he does use a variety of moves and seems to go to his counter relatively quickly.

He's not a freaky bend guy but he uses power/leg drive more to get good angles to the QB if that makes sense. He'd be a nice add to the OLB rotation.

Taylor Rapp's 40 time is misleading. He is still recovering from a groin injury. To me, on tape, he looks like a mid 4.5 safety.

Yeah I know maybe we can look at Greedy Williams or DeAndre Baker or Montez Sweat or Brian Burns or Nasir Adderley or Noah Fant and T.J. Hockenson. All guys I like in the first. Still hoping for Murphy to come in for a visit.

You already know my feelings on the TEs;). I like Sweat,Burns and Adderly as well. I'm not sold on Greedy or Baker. Honestly I haven't done anything on Murphy besides what I read. He is portrayed as a zone corner and I'm not sure how I feel about that but like I said I haven't done enough to form a legitimate opinion. I would be comfortable with a CB later. There are some good ones. I think we're pretty well equipped at CB currently and would be comfortable going into the season with what we have and a later pick. I'm liking Thornhill and Hooker in the 2nd or 3rd instead of Adderly at 20 though. A dream scenario for Adderly would be a trade back and still get him. I'd definitely be more on board with a OLB at 20 if we didn't waste all that money on DUD. We may have also been able to shore up ILB or FS in FA with that money but.....sigh.

Honestly I'm not head over heels for what seems like is gonna be left when we pick. I think the TEs fill a need and a role but don't seriously see them as a realistic option or even available ,no matter how much I would like to see it. WRs we be available all over the draft. Hardman and a size speed guy between the 4th(Hardman)and one of our 6ths(Hurd). There's easily a handful of CBs and Safeties from the 2-4th. It probably won't happen but a trade back for Adderly or Mack Wilson wouldn't hurt my feelings if we can pick up another pick or two. It's definitely gonna be interesting....

If Murphy doesn't come in for a visit, he won't be the pick at #20. I think Teryl Austin was at Washington's pro day though.

Yes supposedly showing interest in Rapp. I don't think there was any mention of interaction between the Steelers and Murphy.
