Nothing happening on the Steelers front as usual , but according to James Palmer of NFLNetwork they are in on Broncos FA CB Bradley Roby.

Terrell Suggs to Arizona, this makes no sense a older player to a rebuilding team, just a last cash grab by him.

All the noise recently probably isn't helping us attract players

Suggs went home to play in the state where he went to college and lives in the off season. Can't blame a guy for that when He's 37 years old.

If they are comfortable rolling with Dupree. I really hope they look at Houston or Matthews on a one year situational deal where they stress the franchise, the history, the drive for 7 and so on.

There are some LBs available for trade according to reports, Darron Lee of the Jets, Zach Brown and Mason Foster of the Redskins.

If the current report of Bradley Roby is true, Pittsburgh is gunning for a corner. Steven Nelson should also be an option. Add Pierre Desir to that list as well.

    I doubt they do personally.

They are likely going to draft a developmental option in the draft. As disappointing as that sounds, there really is not enough money to spend on a pass rusher in spite of the amount of cap we have.

This is the year Colbert has to splurge on a Cornerback. No exceptions. Should they fail to do so, then the team will have no choice but to draft a corner in Round One.

I'd rather have a rookie corner than a rookie lb.

I think the corner class in free agency is weak. I’d be a bit concerned if Roby is the guy. He’s played very well as a slot corner, but struggled badly last season when the Broncos put him outside. The most viable outside guys are Darby (who has an injury history) and Desir (who has only been good for 1 season). If we grab Roby I still see us having a need for a starter opposite Haden. I th8nk Darby and Desir will be too expensive.

SR6 mentioned LBs being shopped. Zach Brown is one of the better ILBs in the league, and unlike our LBs he can contribute in coverage. The Redskins need to move on after the huge Collins contract (and rumors that they want Mosley). His 2019 cap hit would be $7.25 million, and 2020 hit would be $8 million. At 29 years old he’s not going to have big trade value. I consider tossing that new 5th rounder at them. Maybe our 4th if that’s what it takes. The guy can play.

Last I heard Clinton-Dix and Boston were still available. Clinton-Dix will probably sign for north of 11-12 million/year, but Boston may be less expensive and is a solid upgrade over Davis.

And then there’s the guy I’m really carrying a torch for: Shaq Barrett. I call him the “anti-Bud.” While Bud does very little with tons of athleticism, Barrett plays solid ball on the edge by using mature techniques and all-out effort.

At WR there’s Donte Moncrief, who I think can be a decently productive X receiver with Ben, especially with JuJu getting attention. Moncrief can get deep and affect safety play. John Brown is a speed guy who can also force safeties to shade his way, especially with Ben’s love of the deep ball. I know there has been a push for Golden Tate. I love Tate, but he’s a guy who does his best work on short passes and screens. With limited deep threats, I’m not sure Tate gives us what we need. Rather, more of what we already have.

Big free agency deals are for desperate teams. We build success though the draft with occasional free agents at reasonable prices. The Steelers will reward their successful players but rarely pay big for other teams successes.

It always amazes me how much teams will pay for players.... I mean... 66m for a tackle??? 100m for nick foles?
