I didnt get it. Smart thing would have been to slap the transition on bell last yr and let him get a offer from another suitor while his value was as high as it could get and then you'd get something back for him.

The smart thing would of been to promise him you wouldn't tag him this upcoming season . We could of gotten him back for the last 6 games and it might have put us over the top. If we were actually coming off winning a SB I bet a lot of things change or the fan base wouldn't be so upset. We wouldn't be on 10 years and counting .....

In comparison to their peers around the league, yes.

Bettis 4 Pro Bowls with the Steelers. Only 2 in his last 10 years here. Only 1 First Team All Pro
Bell 3 Pro Bowls in 5 years. Consistently considered one of the best RBs in the league. 2 first team All Pro's in 5 years

Hines Ward 4 Pro Bowls in 13 years. None over the last 7. No first team All Pro
AB 8 Pro Bowls 4 first team All Pro's in 9 years. Consistently considered one of the best WRs in the league.

Ryan Clark 1 Pro Bowl. Zero First team All Pro's.

Love each and everyone of those guys. Steeler legends, all of them. Great men. Great character guys. Great team players. But not elite. Not one. Sorry.

    ***edit
Yes Bettis was always considered one of the better RBs in the league, but he was never in the debate about being THE BEST in the league like Bell is.

Comparing Bettis and Hines to AB and Bell doesn't make them slightly better than average. I'll concede Clark, although I loved his style.

Only to cover their selves. Not because of what was in the best interest in ab.

I'm just glad I can stop thinking about Bell and AB. 2 seasons worth was long enough.

I just can’t get over how stupid these football players sticking up for Brown are. Complete idiots talking about “the money” as if he didn’t have plenty. The entire league is greedy and full of dumbasses.

    Riiiiiight.

Im sure they tagged Bell, then all of the sudden said "Holy ****, we're over the cap," then immediately contacted Brown and his agent and forced him into a restructure his contract all in one day. Yep, Im sure that's how it went down.

    You're nuttier than I thought.

That's kinda the whole point. If the current coach and GM could bring us rings, would anyone really care how they went about doing it? (within ethical reason, of course)

Exactly my point. Almost all of this frustration comes from a talented team underperforming and there is a whole lot of blame to go around. Not just AB and LB.

He's anti team, thinks they are evil empires, so that explains a lot.

They did right by AB and he stabbed them in the back but he'll still paint them as the bad guys.

They cant force AB to do anything. We've seen that already. He agreed to do it.

You are right bro, if he shut his mouth and didn't act like a complete ahole we get easily a 1 for him. 31 year old larry fitzgerald gets a 1 or a 1 & 2, AB would be the same if it wasn't his attitude. He just shafted us on his way out.
