Juan Thornhill with a 44 inch vertical. One shy of the record! Great!

That being said, not sure if he makes it to us in Round 2. Definitely not worth a Top 20 selection either. Still though, this does make him an early second to late 1st player.

I read that Greedy Williams had a pedestrian showing in the CB drills. Not sure where the final CB projections are going to play out yet.

Williams only ran the forty, didn't do the drills due to cramping.

    Um.. no.

Greedy does not have the desire to tackle nor assist in run support. Byron Murphy does. A top 20 pick better be able to do both. Murphy provides that. Williams does not.

He only ran the 40. I'm also not a person that looks strictly at the drills. They matter but I'm mostly a tape guy.

Funny, every time I see his name I can't help but seeing Peter Sellers' mentally challenged character Chauncey Gardner in the classic movie Being There. I'm wondering if his folks did that intentionally?

Yeah I'd rather get an established Mlb and have a rookie corner than the other way around. That's if SB is the goal.

I just watched his Notre Dame and Penn State games from 2018. My first impression of him watching games on live TV last fall was positive. My impression after watching 2 game tapes is even better. The guy gets after the QB like he's starving and hunting QBs for his next meal.

He tested extremely well for a guy who's knock was athleticism. He and Watt would be a terror. Combined with a rotation of Ola and Adams to keep them fresh....look out.

With his combination of tape and measurements, Winovich may go a lot higher than the draft pundits are thinking right now. He may be gone by our 2nd round pick, never mind our 3rd. Heck, he could even slip into the end of the 1st (Green Bay or New England).

His age is going to be a big issue though. He will be 24 by the time the 2019 NFL Season begins. Some teams do add age into a First Round Pick; late or otherwise. Players like Christian Wilkins and others are more so exceptions and not rules.

That being said, he is definitley a top 50 player for me. His technique and athletic abilities are enticing enough for certain. Definitely worth a second round pick.

Can he play the run? Drop back in coverage?

He plays the run well. I haven’t seen any tape on him dropping into coverage on the snap, but I did see a few of times where he quickly realized that a screen was being set to his side, and he broke away from his rush to get to the receiver and help stop the play after a short gain or loss. He shows the instincts to do it, and at the combine he looked athletic enough to do it. It’s always a challenge projecting college edge guys to the the OLB position in a 3-4 defense because there are very few college edge guys who ever drop into coverage. The Steelers have always had to make that kind of evaluation without having tape of guys in coverage. We should generally be using edge guys in zone coverage when they drop, and I think he easily has the athleticism and instincts to do that. Pretty much any edge guy is going to be overmatched in man coverage.
