Personally, I think our best chance is getting Oakland's 27th pick.... it might even come down to a draft day trade, dependent on how OAK feels about their first 2 picks. Outside of Oakland's potential for giving up a 1st..... I think the offer prices drop off dramatically.

I think oakland is trying to make a play for kyler. I dont see them giving up that for AB. Josh rosen isnt even worth a 1dt ed pick according to reports.

I think it might be tough for Oakland to trad that 27th pick for Brown. That would essentially mean they traded Amari Cooper, 24 years old, and with little to no baggage for 30 year old, dragging a caravan, Antonio Brown who's going to be demanding a new contract, which is part of why they traded Cooper who is entering his fifth-year option this season.

OK, ok, I get it. The Cooper deal really shouldn't have any bearing on trading for Brown. The moves really should be evaluated on their own individual merits and not have any actual connection in a cold business atmosphere, but that's not easy to do.

I do agree FA&KMM, but realistically that's the Steelers best chance for a 1st rounder.... which is probably slim. I don't see OAK trading for him, especially after taking our garbage last year (MB).

I think AB wants out for his last grab at a big contract. Nothing to do with the Steelers, Tomlin or Ben. We will see what he does when he is traded. He could prove me wrong but this is the only reason he wants out imo.

You could have saved yourself a lot if typing like 60 pages ago if you would have realized that no one is claiming that Ben isn't a huge Richard or wasn't at least 50%of the problem but AB''s refusal to take any blame what his actions that last week caused had nothing to do with Ben. He could have taken a huge dump in AB''s locker in front of the team and still doesn't excuse saying you're injured, ignoring your coach's instruction, missing practice and not contacting anyone and showing up expecting to play on Sunday. That's all on Brown.

I think pick 27 is a dream at this point. If he were the pre-2018-19 AB, with just a little goofiness like the Facebook Live thing and the kicking of the cooler, then I think we'd be fielding offers in the teens. Mr. Big Chest introduces a whole new dynamic. If we get a 2nd I'd be pleasantly surprised.

Thorn, based on what I'm reading I don't think you're going to find that much agreement on the board for Ben being anywhere near 50% of the problem. This is on AB, and on Tomlin for allowing him more and more rope until he took too much. Can Ben be an ass? Yeah, I think there's evidence to that effect. However, this situation isn't Ben's fault at all.

Doesn't matter that much, it still will be a team on its third head coach in as many seasons, a guy looking to blow up the team to get his guys, dumping the first Rd draft pick franchise QB they drafted last year for a new one this year. Fitz will still be there so that will be awkward as Brown throws fits because he wants the ball. They won't be competitive so he will throw fits and let's face it the Cards aren't really prime time attractions so he will get little to no coverage on Sundays beyond the southwest media market. It's a death sentence for a guy like Brown. Toiling in obscurity trying to gain attention .

I felt I had to give him something so saying it was a 50/50 split between the two''s egos seemed fair.

I think Ben is AB's scapegoat. If it's ego, I think it's more about JuJu getting team MVP - not just another player, but another WR. That had to sting his mighty super star ego. I do think that's part of it, but I also think AB is seeing his contract running out at age 33 without any more guaranteed money and thinking he can get another big payday by finding a way out of Pittsburgh.

    Exactly

For all of Browns idiocy he has managed, with a lot of help from ex players in the media who dislike Ben, to shift a large amount of attention from him and to put a lot of the blame on Ben. That he's done masterfully.

What's funny is when they talk about Ben being the only one on the Steelers to get special treatment (KCs comment didn't help), they either ignore or are ignorant of the fact that Brown rents a house in training camp while every one else, Ben included, stay in dorm rooms. They also have so far ignored ABs response to being questioned about his speeding ticket.....where he was actually pissed that he was pulled over because he's "A Steeler driving in Pittsburgh" and he knows a lot of cops from doing charity work. I mean....WOW. Chastise Ben for getting preferential treatment, then get pissed because he didn't get any from the police.

Apparently Ian Rappaport had reported that the Broncos were very interested, and then a Denver reporter who is close to the team said that they’re not interested and that the price is too high. That was just a couple of hours ago. We’ll see what happens.

Not to mention AB went awol 3 times during the season that doesn't get much attention.

As far as Ben being at fault, I think it's fair to say that he just got tired of listening to AB being a little ***** and whining all the time.

Hence the rest of the post. It's fine in theory for those that want a point proved, but honestly it will serve no purpose other than an "I showed you" and save some money as in the notion that he don't play he don't get paid etc... im not a contract guy so I don't know how much of it they can recoup if this fool wouldn't want to cooperate and be a team player. I agree with your point on lower paid players. It's a mess.
