Someone has their story wrong. They don't have to pay until the start of the season, its in the link Bobby posted. Steelers may not have to pay it at all.

Edit: Never mind, I see what its saying, will count against the cap.

I truly believe he needs to be gone. This talk of keeping him around benched and fined is fine in theory in order to prove a point but this team has demonstrated they they cannot handle the week in and week out non stop questioning about situations with players. Even though Bell never showed up, it was a season of Bell questions. Now AB's stuff is gonna be twice as bad and even with him gone is going to be around for a bit. Can't have it in a situation where he continues to be an ass to the tune of a 100 times worse if they say there are no suitors and keep his fit throwing ass around here in any fashion.

You're right... Our opinions dont matter. Never have and never will, regardless of how right/wrong they appear to others whom opinions matter none as well. So with that, I bid you all a fair adios.

UNtil or the next day or next week, who knows? I love the banter, I love the team and until my dogs can carry on some sort of conversation which is highly unlikely, I'll chime in time to time and hope for the best as per usual. GO STEELERS and at the current time F brown, Bell, enablers, detractors, and all others from top to bottom who could've intervened but sat idle.

I'm excited to see what pick we get. If the pick winds up being our ILB of the future for the next 10 years, then it is totally worth it.

OK, what am I missing here. What would be Brown's motivation to agree to this? I don't see him getting anything out of it. It would actually seem to give the Steelers leverage when talking with teams and thereby delay a possible deal which is not what Brown wants.

Don't get me wrong, he's still a class A ass, but I'm not sure why the Steelers thought he would agree to this, unless like I said there's some angle I'm not seeing.

this part is driving me crazy...in the story it says, ''Brown hasn’t ruled out approving a trade without a new contract in place at the time of the transaction,

HE DOESNT GET TO MAKE THAT DECISION.......HE'S GOT NO SAY...

Wow just watched it on ESPN. I have had hope that this would go away and he could play again for the Steelers but know i can say i cant stand AB. HEe mentioned several time about winning but has not won a superbowl. Week 17 still has me confused he says he was told to go home cause he told tomlin he was sore but all we heard leading up to the game was he had some kind of injury. i also dont care where he was from everyone comes from somewhere good and bad.To me it seems he is lost either getting bad advice or drugs.I want players that are proud to be a Steeler

I don't understand why he thinks "they have to play by his rule", literally we don't have to.

Hell no. Funny story one of my friends got kicked off my team for an AB esque situation. He was playing scout team offense and got mad because the scout team threw him a low ball and he jammed his finger. So he then proceeded to skip practice for like a week without communicating to anybody and tried to come back and say he was sick. Coach kicked him off the team and he hurry up and left and played elsewhere as it was like 2 weeks before school started.

This indicates something that needs addressed at a much higher level than AB. AB is just the spoiled little brat taking what he can get, the parents need to be the bigger person (Tomlin, Colbert, Art II)

HOLY ****! I just watched the interview. He is flat out retarded man. 1 Second its all about winning, the next sentence its all just a business, the next sentence it's all just about being respected. " I got 30 million in cash man, I don't need football" very next sentence. " Of course I want to play, i'm a player, that;s what it's all about is just playing the game"

I've even changed my stance. I still believe he spoke a lot of truth about ben and also how the organization coddles him over everyone else. But enough is enough. He saying things like " Colbert didnt know my gf's name". So? What does that have to do with anything. AB them or no one else was going to treat you like a god. I get it ben does get better treatment than everyone else but some of the stuff you are saying makes no sense. He should have just said what he said about ben than shut up. Now hes going to far talking about things that dont even matter. But still believe his wanting out of Pittsburgh is in fact part his fault, Tomlin, Ben, and the organization. But he's to far with all these interviews.

And the thing is in all phases of life there's a such thing as a breaking point. MOST of the time it doesn't take one instance for a person to leave a job, relationship, school, position etc...its normally the totality of events. I believe that last week 17 was just AB's breaking point. Whether you believe he was right or wrong I sincerely doubt this wasnt an ongoing problem he had that he eventually just got fed up with.

I know what you meant. But if AB threatens to sit out the season if a new team doesn't give him a new contract, that messes with whatever compensation the Steelers would get.

I'm thinking it may not be fine in theory.
I'm worried it will mess with team chemistry.
You've got the $1 and $2M players on the team, busting their asses for a spot on the roster.
What happens when they see a player being payed 10 times as much to do nothing?

Interesting take there by CC, kinda surprising as he was always a Me Me Me Me player...... but he was spot on with this analysis.

It's terrible in reality, in theory, and in every way imaginable.

Excuse me for making this analogy, because this is after all this is just a game, but...

If you have a cancer, and that what Brown is at this point, you don't keep it around and let it fester or try to somehow bargain with it. You cut, zap, drug, or whatever it takes to get rid of it. If all they can get is a conditional 7th, so be it.
