I knew they weren't getting what everyone around here that they would. AB isnt worth a 1st rounder. I've even seen some analysts say they'd give no higher than a FOURTH. I think personally hes worth a 2nd. To someone like the saints hes worth a late first round pick but the problem is Pittsburgh is in a bind with the situation.

That's one of the many reasons why you shouldn't listen to the analysts.

Agreed, and teams know he is due a bonus in March. I would be willing to bet that if we eat/pay AB the roster bonus in March, the offers MAY improve a bit after that time(someone else suggested this too). Do you take the BO before the bonus is due or eat the money and see if the offer improves. Colbert has said he will keep AB if the offer isn't good, but at this point, I cannot possibly see him playing on the Steelers in 2019.

That's what I'm saying and I think Colbert said that only to make suitors offer more. I dont see any scenario what so ever with AB coming back and obviously the team wouldnt want to pay him all that money. He wont probably be gone before the bonus but he definitely will be gone before training camp.

I realize that we only have prior, similar trades and acquisitions to go by, but every situation is unique.
Randy Moss had 2 or 3 very mediocre seasons leading up to that trade, his last season with the Raiders being his career worst. Compared to what AB has done over the last several seasons, the only thing that is similar is their age.

AB continues to bash Colbert throughout the process. He wants out but continues to throw up red flags for potential new teams which hurts himself. The dude just can't shut his piehole. Dumbazz

I think he is referring to John Elway who was drafted by the Baltimore Colts but refused to accept it and threatened to play baseball rather than football.

Moss isn't even close to as complete a receiver as AB is... I'll take the oath on that. Moss was also coming off a stint with the lousy ass raiders as well as being in the 30 club. I've never believed Moss to be a great receiver, I just do not. I believe he was more than a one trick pony but not in any conversation for great receiver. AB is the **** and it will suck to seem him go but he himself created a monster that just can't hide in any closets or under any beds here anymore. He always played above the line but has chosen to live his life on field and off above a certain line as well. I do believe he has a victim mentality that can be misconstrued as the proverbial chip on his shoulder but it's nobodies fault where he's at other than his and he seems OK moving forward with that mindset in this near future.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the future but as far as here goes, hes done or atleast should be done. I doubt he really tried to improve any situation or issues over the years he may have had and acted out as he has and is now capitalizing on dumb ass comments from Colbert to help champion his stupid ass claims. Colbert was dumb for phrasing what he said the way he did, and it turned into the only mumbling so far from AB that has made any sense since he started this show. "See what I mean"? They let it linger on long enough that AB's ass actually had some rhetort that could be considered. Bottom line is, AB caused this mess with his team in various ways and the minute they a little got tough with him he went full finger point and jag off mode to try to escape a situation he mentally can't handle.

He's on the road recruiting like minded dummies to help lend favorable approval for his stance and isn't stopping to consider the fact that he was fine all along if he didn't put his own sweet ass above the team.

I remember that the discussion on Moss before that trade focused on whether he was washed up.

Moss showed little to no effort in Oakland, the discussion was merited.

I'll agree AB is a better route runner than moss and he is a far harder worker. That's not to say moss couldn't run every route as he could he caught a lot of slants and shallow crosses in his early viking days. But moss was just such a transcendent talent that he still impacted the game heavily even without running all the routes for most of his career. Moss wasnt first ballot for no reason. He was a GREAT RECIEVER stop the blasphemy.

But him throwing jabs at Colbert also further makes the relationship between the 2 so bad they no have choice but to get rid of him because it wouldn't be a winning environment with him going forward.

No kidding. Someone saying Moss wasn't a great receiver is one of the craziest things I've ever read on here. Moss is one of the best WR's in league history. Moss had character issues for sure and appears wasn't willing to put the work in like AB has done, but that doesn't take away from his pure talent whatsoever. At times in his career, Moss was basically uncoverable.

I'm willing to bet that AB doesn't want any part of the Steelers more than the Steelers don't want any part of him.

If he has any brain cells left, he should shut his trap.

Even if the Steelers are truly willing to keep AB, I'm not convinced AB would report, even though he is under contract. We saw what a **** show the Bell situation became and he wasn't under contract. It would be far more messy with AB. Colbert is saying the right thins to try to increase the trade value, but unfortunately AB isn't doing the Steelers any favours. It's going to come down to getting what we can for him and saying good riddance.

The Steelers better not ever acknowledge AB in the future. As far as the Steelers organization is concerned, once AB is traded, he shouldn't exist ever again. Don't have him in any tribute or video, ever. AB is dead to me and he should be dead to the Steelers too.

Moss is number 2 all time in touchdowns with 156 only behind rice who played for 20 years and ranked number 4 all time in receiving yards, I would say he was by far an elite receiver......

I suppose this is the official AB thread now, LOL. I keep checking for news I might have missed here.

Maybe we should have a contest. Name the team he is traded to and the date the deal is announced. Closest to the date is the tie breaker.

So answer this again. Do you seriously think they'd keep him around just because they couldnt get what they thought he was worth? So you think based on how reluctant this team is to give out the big bucks would pay antonio brown to stay home? Because it's no way at all the team will win with him on it next yr. Him opening his mouth is not hurting anything because that isnt making any team less interested.

So let’s talk about trade value in relation to the trades involving Moss. In 2005 at age 28, Moss was traded to the Raiders for the 7th overall pick and starting LB Napoleon Harris. In 2007 at age 30 after 2 down years in Oakland, Moss was traded to the Pats for a 4th round pick.

In 2005 Moss was at the top of his game, and was considered among the top 2 or 3 WR in the game. He also had some personality baggage, but I don’t anything to the degree of the current AB situation. In 2007 Moss was a bit of a mess. He was performing poorly, had suffered recent lost time due to injury and was a malcontent.

I think the situation with AB is in between these two Moss situations. Like Moss in 2005, he’s at the top of the league at his position. Like Moss in 2007, he’s a malcontent. Unlike Moss in 2007, he isn’t coming off a bad injury shortened season, and 2 straight seasons underperforming.

Looking at all of this (and his age), his trade value is probably closer to the 2005 Moss value than the 2007 Moss value. If it weren’t for the personality issues I think it would be a top 15ish pick. That’s less than the #7 overall pick plus starting LB that the Vikes got for Moss due to age. The devaluation shouldn’t take him down to Moss’ 2007 trade value because he’s still clearly great on the field, whereas there were questions about Moss still “having it.” How far does this devaluation go? I’m thinking mid 2nd round pick value most likely. I doubt it will be a 1st.

I forgot Napolean Harris was part of that trade, I thought it was 2 draft picks.

2nd rd pick for AB is probably realistic, but a 1st isn't out of the question.
I don't see anything less than a 2nd and maybe a late pick. M Bryant was traded for a 3rd, AB has to be worth more than him.

Yes. You act like AB has nothing to lose. HE DOESN"T WANT TO BE HERE.

What are you not getting about this? Steelers have him under contract for 3 more years, at his age they can ruin him if they want.

If they refuse to trade him, they'll hope for the best. I think it would be a rocky year but thats what they will do.

Have to look at this from the teams perspective and not as a fan. Trust me, I want him gone but Colbert isn't dumping him for less than a 2nd rd, maybe not even less than a first.
