If you are going to trade him, get the best deal you can regardless of where he goes. Just my thought. If you trade him to someone else, there is no stopping them from turning around and trading him right to whomever you turned down.

    Belichick had Hernandez and Gordon.
If ABrown was available, Belichick would have him.
(He just wouldn't offer enough to make Colbert consider a trade.)

Why does that make him a goofball?

If the Ravens offered all 11 defensive starters in a trade for Brown, is there a reason why Colbert wouldn't consider that amount of compensation?

Is that what they are offering? Is any team offering that type of investment? What if it's not so lucrative? Why strengthen your rivals?

I think he’s just saying wait and see what they’re offering before condemning it.

    Exactly what SteelerGlenn just said.

Your earlier post mentioned "if the compensation is right". It doesn't necessarily mean that Colbert is planning on it happening, or that all teams offers would be weighted equally. If the AFCN rivals or NE don't make an excessively lucrative offer, then Colbert can say the compensation wasn't right. (It doesn't strengthen a rival if they were to lose enough value in draft picks and players to offset acquiring Brown.)

This makes me wonder if they are not satisfied with the offers they are getting.

Give Tampa AB & our "losing Bell pick" straight-up for Howard.

I think I heard Neon Deon chastise AB about his behaviors.

Wasn't Eli too entitled to play in San Diego?
Wasn't Horseface too special to play in Indianapolis?

I’m going to say what I said 2 months ago... somehow, someway AB is going to end up on the Pats. They may not trade straight up but they’ll get him from whoever we trade him to.

They will also get the hockensen kid and go on to set every single scoring record this year. In the game against us AB will get 10 TD, but immediately be arrested after the game for blowing a dude agaianst his will. But the damage will already be done and we miss the playoffs again. Tomlin is promoted to coach and gm

Belichick took on Moss, who had done worse than Brown by that time.

Colbert is also making it clear he is willing to keep Brown, which may also be evidence that the offers aren't good enough. The soft deadline has to be the day Brown gets his roster bonus. I'm guessing better offers will come around that time.

If we want to talk about players who didnt play with Ben the list is too long to name those who criticized him. I was trying to keep it in the confines of those who played with him so I dont get that "how would they know? They didnt play with ben" Responses.

No. The colts pushed peyton out the back door because of their doctors supposedly saying he couldn't play anymore. Peyton's doctors said he'd be fine.

Eli was mostly influenced by his dad, archie. He didnt want him to end up in a moribund franchise like the chargers like he was with the saints in the 70s.
