Unless Murray is injured and no one knows, Sullivan is trying to throw this game. Good old DeSmith has allowed THREE goals in the first 6 minutes or so. What a joke he is.

    Absolutely horrible.
I'm not even going to point out the failures by this joke of a team last night.
They must be spending too much time around the Steelers.
They are walking themselves right out of the playoffs.
Maybe that is what it will take to really shake up this team including the coach.

Will the Pens be playing in the rain tonight and how much will that affect the game?

    Desperately need this win.

I agree but the slash call at the end of the game was a joke and put a huge advantage for the Fliers. That lousy call was just enough to get the Fliers the win. Pens got a much needed point though.

I can't see pens doing anything this year, the trend has been downwards and when they play good teams they get killed lol.

They need to sell, rebuild and get a new coach. sounds familiar

Strong game last night from the Pens. They were playing without two of their top defensive players and still rose to the challenge. The Pens know if they are to make the playoffs time to shine is now. I think they have the ability and they need to show that every game. Murray is playing well. Most of the goals he gives up are power play goals because of some very dumb penalties given up.
They need to get a little tougher and not get pushed around and beat up so much. It worries me that this Friday and Saturday they have back to back road games and DeSmith will be trying to look like an NHL goalie in one of the games. Maybe he can surprise everyone and give up less than his normal average of 4 goals against. Hopefully they will have some guys back on defense.

Big game tonight for the Pens. They need the 2 points.
It will be interesting to see who they start tonight in goal.
Not many games left so they need to make each one count.

Great game last night. The have repositioned themselves nicely.
Murray was back in goal last night. Two games back to back for him.
He responded well giving up only 1 goal. Game coming up against Florida.
They need some points this week. Not many games left in the regular season.

Nice OT win last night. Things are bunched up near the top - if the Pens can hit a streak they could climb to the top - only 4 points out of top spot in 3rd place (OK - I'm a forever optimist). Weird - win 2 games and could be in first place - lose 2 and could be in 5th place out of PO's.

Big 2 game series with Columbus tonight and Saturday. Need a split at least.
But four points would be great. Pens are still missing a couple of players on defense.

Tonight's game is huge for both teams. Time to step up.

Gritty game tonight, amazed they won. The O seemed really out of sync for most of game. Great all around D however. Another tough one against Blue Jackets on Sat and then Bruins on Sunday. Back in 3rd place for a day.

Good game with Murray looking great. Saturday game could be a 4 point swing vs Columbus in two days.
Pens still need to get a couple of guys back on defense. Only a hand full of games left in the regular season.

15 after last night I believe. So do you save Murray for Sunday vs Boston or run him out again against Blue Jackets Saturday seeing how well he played last night? While all games count equally in the standings, creating separation in the Division is crucial. Columbus is in a scoring funk right now while the Bruins have a wicked continuous game point streak going. The weakness at backup goalie is the Achilles heel of the Pens this season and last. Surprised they haven't addressed it since the MAF departure.

I think Murray back to back is the way I would go. They did that about a week or so ago and he had strong back to back games. It will be interesting to see what Sullivan does.

Now DeSmith has to have a big game tonight against Boston.
Pens didn't want the game last night as bad as Columbus did.
Need to keep pushing it as the end of regular season is near.

Another very meaningful game for the Pens tonight. I'd like to see Malkin score a couple. He's due for a big game.

    Lets go Pens!

I think Mike Sullivan read your post and didn't like the sound of "DeSmith" in the cage so he ran Murray out for a back to back with great results. That 1st period last night might have been their best period of the season. They were absolutely on fire and showed their full capabilities when they put their collective minds to it. Could have easily been up 5-0 with a little help from physics and geometry. Impressive W.

He sure had some opportunities and torched a couple of sticks along the way. Good thing others came to play. Always sweeter to beat up on a Bean Town team on a streak, no matter the sport. Pitt hoops will get another chance against BC Tuesday night in the ACC Tourney.

They need to get physical tonight and give Wilson a taste of his own medicine. Most important get the 2 points but also follow through on every check HARD!

The Pens did what they needed to do to beat the Caps and stop the Caps win streak. The Pens are playing well and still are missing Letang. He should be back very soon. Twelve games remaining and the Pens are closing in on the playoffs. The way things are going they will be a dangerous team in the playoffs. This is the year they can make it 3 Cups in 4 years. They need to stay focused and not let down against Buffalo tomorrow night.

Loved that game last night, especially after quickly tying it up with lightning precision after falling into a 2-0 hole. Sandbagging? The Caps have to be stunned, not knowing what hit them. Have to say, these last 3 wins in 4 games have been the most enjoyable games to watch this year (IMO) and again show that the Pens still "have it"! Even sweeter was busting up two long streaks - the Bruins 20 game pt streak and the Caps 7 game win streak, both now history. Would be nice to climb past the Islanders and maybe even the Caps to land some home rink advantage which was on display on these last 3 important game W's at home. While the Pens road record is quite good at 17-7-11, it's only the 5th best road record in their Division. Have to wonder, is Olli Maata really injured that badly (out since mid Feb) or is he just just on a sabbatical until they figure out what to do with him? Probably keeping him around for an emergency recall due to all the other injuries on D right now. He's been a liability these past few years IMO.

Good game last night against Buffalo. DeSmith was very solid with a shutout.
Glad he seems to hopefully be coming around. They need a solid backup to make a run at the Cup.
They are improving game by game and should be ready for the playoffs.
Next game Saturday early afternoon. The Pens are peaking at the right time,
