white makes his plays coming unblocked. t j edwards makes a lot more of his getting off of blocks. i know he's not as fast as white but he makes a lot of plays against the run and in coverage.

He is definitely an upgrade to what we have.

I like his intensity and his motor. Looks like he plays hard. I see him as a projected 2-3rd round pick.

    Here's his profile

    https://thedraftnetwork.com/2018/11/08/2019-nfl-draft-player-profile-t-j-edwards/

Probably more of a realistic target than Devin White. His lack of speed could be an issue at the next level and that's what the Steelers need IMO.

Also White's reviews is that he handles blockers quite well.

If you have a few minutes, watch a few of his games (not highlights) and see if you think he handles blocks well. You may see something a bit different from what those reviewers see.

But if Edwards runs slow, then he's a younger version of VW and Bostic . They need a ILB who can be a three down player.

I doubt White will be on the board at #20.

If you can get Murphy at 1 and TJ in either rounds 2 or 3, you've had a pretty good draft improvement to this team.

Yes I agree to a point. Edwards has better instincts then either I believe. The combine will be huge for him. He could replace not vw and bostic. I am all for double dipping on the position this year and bringing back fort.

If he was around in the sixth round then yeah, the Steelers don't have a fifth round pick.

I need to see him workout at the combine first, I was thinking the 4th rd might be too high.

Yeah no way he goes in the 6th all that I have seen in all the mocks and rankings have him at a 2nd-3rd rounder. I did see a mock having us take him in the 7th but I think the guy was hitting the crack pipe.......lol

NFL draft scout has him ranked as a 4th rounder. I said that his combine will be huge. Even at that, this kid has put up good numbers on the field for years. He would be an upgrade for sure but he is not really that shazier type. He can do a lot of things Vince can't however. He can stop the run and isn't lost in coverage.

I have Edwards as one of the best zone coverage LBs in the draft. Extremely smart and instinctual.

He is not a good athlete though. The Combine will not be his friend. If I was his agent I wouldn't let him run the 40 simply for the perception. Let him do the drills.

I think he is a 2nd round pick, but a bad combine could drop him to the 3rd.

Honestly, if people are questioning his speed, not running the 40 could be a killer for his stock. It's not like this draft is short on LB talent. The key is to have him run 40's several times before the combine and then make a determination of what's worse - the time he will likely run or not running. I'd the say the break point is probably around 4.75.

I'd have to disagree at least for the ILBs. I think this year's class is slim pickings tbh.

but I think I said the same thing about last year's ILBs so I may be overly critical since I see it as a huge need.

Right now I like Pratt and Hanks for the Steelers, this could change after the combine.

Never heard of him, I have only heard of Polite, and Chauncey from Florida's defense.
