Big risk for certain. Difficult to sell a player who has not played an entire season. Bell is a talented Running Back but how much so?! Will he be the same?!

Within the same vein, if a team elects to acquire him for a good incentive, then it will have been worth it.

    Time will tell.

Let him go, get the comp pick and be done with this mess. Enough is enough. We are all tired of this garbage.

This is starting to get embarrassing. The Pittsburgh Steelers have become a jaded teenage girlfriend.

    Dear Art II,

Please leave LeVeon alone. He doesn't want to be with you anymore. He doesn't treat you right. What about that Conner boy? He seems nice.

    Sincerely,

    Steeler Nation

This is very old news. They made this very clear when Bell didn’t show up after game 10. That Adam Shefter certainly is on the ball.

Todd Gurley just showed why he did what he did.

And AB just showed why management should never give large signing bonuses. Bell is another example.

And why no teams should pay that kind of money for a RB. Look at his complete lack of production in the last two games..... pathetic. He should give the team a refund out of embarrassment.

Bell will need a team that has their QB on a rookie contract to get what Gurley got. Most teams will sacrifice guaranteeing the RB & guarantee the QB.

I like production pay only for wr and rb's. Pay them by the yard.

You must really want to see me first players then. They'll all be begging for the ball on every play.

He showed he is more product of the oline sitting for the year aswell. Great back but he will demand a good oline and offence where he goes. Too risky i think. Just let him walk and take the comp pick pls.

One ... its crystal clear that this organization could give a rats azz what any of us thinks.
Two ... we broke folk, are dedicating our lives, money, and time to something that we absolutely have zero control of
Three .... use this sight to vent and/or celebrate or pass on information of the team for those that can't get. All of the rest (sorry to say) ... doesn't even matter

Relax, Bell won't be on the team next year. They are only doing this as an attempt to trade him. If his value isn't as great as he thinks it is, the offers may not be that high, giving the Steelers an opportunity to sign and trade him.

The fact that they are considering this could be an indication they will be players in free agency this year which would likely wipe out a 3rd rd comp for just letting Bell walk.

It's a good move by the Steelers, nothing to lose really unless they do their usual basement bargain FA shopping. Then they may be throwing away the comp pick if they don't match the offer Bell receives.

The best TEAM wins the Super Bowl not necessarily the best players.

Cut ties with the cancer on this team NOW!

The problem with this strategy is that $14 million in cap space gets tied up during the wait to see what happens while we should be using that money to improve the roster. I’m pretty sure that the tag counts against the cap until we refuse to match a contract offer it’s rescinded. If I’m wrong about how that works, then I’m a lot more open to the concept.

Not sure how the money part works but if thats the case, they obviously have to be ready to move on pretty quickly if it looks like its going to drag on. Ray Fittipaldo also thinks they will only tag him if they already have a trade partner lined up.
