If Tomlin was going to hire one of them, it would be Lewis.

So, it's a silent point? I'll show my self out now.

"Gregg Williams orchestrated the greatest turnaround in the history of the Browns when he went 5-3 as the interim coach to close out the year at 7-8-1"

    https://www.cleveland.com/browns/20...ther-departures-coming-as-early-as-today.html

Which is why I'm so happy the Browns are in the Steelers division. Destined to be losers forever. They cleaned house entirely.

If Baker Mayfield can overcome the instability of the Browns organization, I would be impressed

Watch Tomlin get fired and then go to the Browns to turn them into perennial contenders ;)

I think historically he has been a 4-3 guy but has used some exotic packages throughout his career that show he is not a set in stone type. The only thing that would make me want to see him hired is that he makes game plans each week based on attacking the opponent that week and does it effectively. Something I don't think Butler or Tomlin will ever truly embrace

I agree with your first two paragraphs completely.

I don’t think either Butler or Williams are the answer, though.

Part of me wonders if Butler is back but Tomlin takes a more official role in the scheming and play calling in-game. We know he’s been dabbling in that for a while, so maybe next season it becomes Tomlin’s defense proper.

That is fair. Butler certainly isn't. Williams would be an improvement, but I'd be fine with them going another direction. The key to me is moving on from Butler, who has proven he can't do the job.

I actually agree they won't hire Williams, but he would have better schemes and our defense would be better then Butler and MT coaching the defense.

Dignity? We have a HC trying to trip players on the sideline. I think we're past that.

Meanwhile Keith Butler is safe according to Jeremy Fowler. Plenty of time still but nothing has surfaced yet. Should he be back, expect more of the same.

I think what you are trying to say is that it is subject to debate, dispute, or uncertainty. Also known as moot.

Being out of control and thinking your in control is Tomlin. Coach Cliché had a window of opportunity to get rid of Butler and Smith. Both units need a new voice. Fresh outlook. Glad that Porter is finally gone but Saxon? I feel we will see much of the same result next season. I hope not. I would have hired Williams but that would be a threat to the great Tomlin, regular season wonder. Butler and Tomlin go way back. So we as fans will have to press on all the while the same as it ever was will be.

Thanks for pointing out my poor grammar, it was a learning experience for me.

And this point should be mute, silent that is because it's DEAD.
