    Yep.

It would make little sense to find and fill vacancies during that time. Too much information about future prospects is already being distributed throughout the organization. Adding another proverbial wrench could yield consequences for not just the Big Board but also the Pro Days and prospects of interests the same.

IMO no facts I feel like this is the Rooneys decision. I mean Tomlin and Butler don't share the same scheme design and IMO I feel Tomlin would love to move on and bring in "his" guy. That being said didn't someone say Tomlin and Bowles were buddies? The more the time goes on the more I feel Butler is here next year. I also feel Butler is a good coach but him and Tomlin don't mix

    Ah. I see.

Fat chance of that happening. Butler loves his linebackers way too much. That pride has cost us games; far more than it should have.

If I'm not mistaken Tomlin actually coached under Butler at some point in college.

"In context, there are only 31 teams now in the NFL - with the Poughkeepsie Rams folding after their 14th move in 3 seasons.

Said Jared Goff, former standout for the then-LA Rams: "They're still around? I thought they closed up shop the year after we won the Super Bowl and they relocated to that dirt lot in back of the 7-11 in Flagstaff."

When will the effect of Shazier not be used as an excuse for this defense? Next year, year after, when? He was a good LB, thats it, not great in my opinion. I remember losing Lambert for games with his toe and no one said our defense will never be the same and he is way better than Shazier will ever dream of being. Tired of hearing of this excuse.

I find it difficult to believe that the Rooneys will be satisfied with not bring back an OLB and RB coach after such a derailed season.

Think he is busy scouting Brian Bosworth for Tomlin at the moment.

I want to see Butler replaced but comparing this defense that is lacking in talent to a defense that had 4 HOF players on it is a tad unfair.

And Shazier is better than good and his speed was instrumental to what they do on defense.

I was simply using it for the context. Other than the rest of the season after Shazier went down the defense has steadily improved under Butler. This year the team had a chance to fill the void and and despite how it may have looked at times they ended up being a much better defense. People can hate on Butler all they want (I have no love for him) but they still need to accept that despite what it looks like at times the defense has been improving under Butler. I don't care if he is let go but I bet the Steelers won't do it.

Going from 13 wins to 9 in one year doesn't exactly show steady improvement.

As far as I'm concerned... Steelers lucked out on 3 of those 13 wins by not having to face Luck, Watson and Rodgers. 2017 Steelers were quite possibly the worst 13-3 team in NFL history.

I disagree about the whole lucked out thing yeah we didn't have to face them QB's but injury is part of the game. Nobody felt sorry when we didn't have Bell, AB or Ben due to injury....jmo
