For some reason I thought the Madden curse was injury related not drama related?

I just saw a video that says if we trade AB, the net result is $1 mil in cap SAVINGS. He most certainly can be traded.

Something about $14 mil of future salary cap money would accelerate and $15 mil of cash and cap would come off. So there is no cap issue.

Just don`t trade him to an AFC competitor please, lol.

That is asking a lot. We will have to hit on all our defensive draft picks IF we decide to draft defensively.

Everyday day more and more coming out...Players are saying they were fed up, and if AB would have been told he could play...That he wouldn't have played because they ( the players ) would have ripped his pads off of him...

"Sounds" like EVERYONE is fed up with the Steeler "Culture"...Which is good and bad...

The players should be fed up, we're all fed up...But we all seen this coming and why has it taken so long and not be addressed...

AGAIN...This ALL has to be on Tomlins AND Rooneys shoulders...If Tomlin is retained ( he will be ) He HAS to be sat down and really " told " he HAS to change, the culture HAS to change, And it will change...Or you're fired...No more no less

He even admits it and offers a Mea Culpa. And we all thought Rodney Dangerfield was the King of No Respect Around Here. :roflmao:

Seems to me he's been staring into that mirrored Disco Ball from 1981 way too long.

At least you have that going for you. Which is nice. Meanwhile the BeeGee's big disco hit "Stayin' Alive" is blaring on the PA system in the Steeler's coaches lounge. :guitarplayer:

Peter King was quoted as saying he took AB's name off his pro bowl selections when he beard about his actions prior to week 17...but...

Also will continue to vote for Darren Sharper...A confirmed serial rapist, for the pro football HOF!

    WOW!

Some interesting scenarios, but I don’t think his value is going to be as high as any of these scenarios with the baggage that he brings to the table.

I’ll say this - if it weren’t for his antics, I’d keep him over any of these scenarios. With the antics, I am leaning towards taking any of those scenarios over keeping him.

What do you guys think about a package of picks such as a high second, third and fourth if they were to trade him? Obviously his production speaks for itself but the distractions, the age, the fact that his injuries have hindered what the Steelers have done in the playoffs. Thinking two firsts or even a top ten in a single 1st might be setting the bar high. However a group of picks gives them flexibility

Antonio Brown is likely to be traded before the start of the NFL's new league year, ESPN insider Chris Mortensen reported on Sunday morning.

Brown was the NFL's most talked about player this past week despite he and his team being eliminated from postseason contention. On January 1, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette broke the news that Brown missed practices leading up to Pittsburgh's regular season finale after getting into an altercation with a teammate, later reported to be Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (Big Ben has denied these reports).

The next day, Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed that Brown skipped the team's Saturday walkthrough as well as the team's season-ending meeting on Monday. Tomlin added that Brown did not do a good enough job communicating with himself as well as the team after Brown left the team late last week. Brown, questionable to play in Pittsburgh's season-finale with a knee injury, was ruled out of the game by Tomlin Sunday morning after Brown's agent called Tomlin to tell him Brown was feeling better. Tomlin said that, due to Brown's lack of communication, playing against the Bengals was "no longer on the menu" and that Brown could help his teammates by supporting them on the sideline. Brown did come to Heinz Field last Sunday (Tomlin said the two briefly spoke before kickoff) but left the stadium before the game's conclusion.

Tomlin said on Wednesday that Brown would be disciplined in-house for his actions. And while Tomlin did not speculate with regard to a possible trade, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Steelers are expected to field trade offers for Brown, who has three years remaining on his current contract. Rapoport's report comes a day after ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Steelers' door to trade Brown has "absolutely been opened."

"In fact, sources say the Steelers are expected to consider trade requests for Brown prior to the start of free agency," Rapoport wrote. "They have not closed the door on the thought of Brown playing for someone else, provided they could receive adequate compensation.

"This would not be a surprise."

The way Brown's contract is set up, the Steelers would have to trade him during the first week of free agency, meaning that the team's second all-time leading receiver could be on a NFL team less than 10 weeks from now. Free agency begins March 13 at 4 p.m. The Steelers should expect to field a slew of offers if they do decide to seriously consider trading Brown, who has caught more passes for more yards and more touchdowns that any receiver in NFL history over a six-year span. This season, despite missing Pittsburgh's season finale, Brown led the NFL with 15 touchdown receptions this season while catching 104 passes for 1,297 yards.

Before the Steelers would seriously consider trading Brown, however, they are going to try to speak with Brown to see what happened at the end of the 2018 season. If fences can be mended, Brown will be back in Pittsburgh. But, if too much damage has already been done, expect the Steelers, at the very least, to seriously consider trade offers for Brown leading up to the first day of free agency.

I’d give the possibility of him being traded at about 10% max. Particularly because of the phraseology in paragraph 5.

So how does this work? I thought that the Trade deadline has already passed and would have to wait until the new league year started?

Seriously, what adequate compensation are you getting for brown? Dallas gave up a first for cooper who couldn't hold brown's jock. "Adequate" would be more than a first but you aren't going to get that since teams will perceive they have leverage in the deal as we are not in a position of strength if the relationship is that sour.

Honestly, what a waste of potential this era of steelers football has been from the coach to the players. This has to be one of the worst teams in our history, mainy due to the potential they had. If they lacked talent it would be one thing, but these clowns should have been perennial super bowl threats and did nothing but squander almost a decade.
