I don't know what a gotcha moment is.:(

But I do know if you listened to his radio interviews you would hear him throw everyone under the bus except himself.
If you haven't listened you wouldn't be able to accurately comment on what he said, and I know accuracy in message board journalism is very important to you.;+)

I guarantee you what happened between Ben and AB during practice had a lot to do with AB doing that stupid masked singing show. He could have spent that time working in his full time job, football.

I don't disagree with that, but he absolutely does take blame on himself, too. He does it after every loss.

Accuracy in anything is important to me. Apparently, it isn't important to you. That is your failing, not mine.

What he says in the radio interviews doesn't change the fact that Roethlisberger consistently puts blame on himself. He does it after every loss.

Is it difficult for you to understand how all this works? Ben’s post game presser isn’t at all different from Tomlin’s. It’s fake news. It’s bull crap.

You see, this is how it goes with a loss: “I need to minimize mistakes. I need to play better. Can’t turn the ball over like that. It starts with me.”

A win: “Big props to that O line. They kept me clean all game. Great separation from receiving corps. Playmakers made plays today. Great all around effort.”

Ben doesn’t mean any of it. It’s just the program running in the background.

That may be true, but it's irrelevant. Posters made the false claim that Roethlisberger never blames himself. He does it after every loss. You may believe he is insincere, but that doesn't erase what Roethlisberger said.

The filming of those shows usually take place months in advance. I've read comments from people who know how it usually works and they are claiming those tapings could of occurred as far back as July. So not really sure about that. They need time for editing and promoting so I've heard.

You’re stuck on semantics. But I hear you Lima charlie and I admire your loyal Ben defending.

I don't know if the basis of this disagreement is that people are saying Ben " never" blames himself or that he should basically stop throwing his teammates under the bus and worry more about himself. I don't think anyone can deny Ben simply talks too much and he should leave any criticism of his teammates out of the media and his mouth. I've been perusing this thread like Tom Hanks looking for hidden messages in Davinci Code and the closest comment I can find to" never" blames himself is "seems" to never blame himself. I feel confident in thinking that you guys are simply implying he should keep any and all blame strictly to himself and at himself. I happen to subscribe to that theory myself.

I'm just trying to be accurate in my assessment of this disagreement and aware of where all parties stand.

In closing I would like to say that all you guys are a bunch of yellow bellied sap suckers but don't be upset at me because I too am one. Now doesn't that make you guys feel better. I know I do....Ben being Ben 101

Why does it seem that any other player on the team can be criticized, but if you say anything negative about Ben, people rush to defend him? The "Ben love" on this forum is crazy. What are you guys gonna do in 3 years when he's gone? I'm a Steeler fan, not a Ben fan. I was a fan BEFORE Ben, and will be AFTER Ben. He's about at the end of his career IMHO, I personally wish he'd retire so we can start the rebuilding process that's desperately needed. Seems like a lot of "fans" will jump ship when Ben is gone.

I'm defending the truth, not Roethlisberger. It's not a matter of semantics. He takes responsibility after losses. That is factually true. I also agreed that he's not a good leader. Roethlisberger is still an excellent quarterback, but I don't think much of him as a leader or as a person.

The rhetoric used in attacking Roethlisberger simply gets ridiculous. I'll be a Steelers fan long after Roethlisberger is gone. I actually don't like the guy. My daughter asked about getting a Roethlisberger jersey and I said absolutely not. I told her to choose another player and I explained why. That said, he is still the team's best chance to win and it is not accurate to say he never blames himself for the team's failings.

You’re right. Ben’s always quick to throw a loss on his back post game. I question his sincerity and leadership. I don’t hate Ben. I want him to succeed. I feel like we’ve gotten all Ben has to offer the Steelers and the main motivation nowadays is the 20 something million he stands to make.

More often than not, Ben points a finger at himself. I guess if people think that Ben threw Washington under the bus, I can see why they are saying he always throws people under the bus. Personally I think thats a load of crap, all he did was challenge Washington.

Oh, and by the way, low and behold, Washington started producing after Ben gave him some tough love. Had nothing to do with it though, right, of course not.

Perhaps Ben knows his teammates and how to motivate them more than fans sitting on their couches with no real understanding of each players personality and what makes them tick.

I'll start a GoFundMe to get as many fans to sit on our coach, if that's possible.

Say something negative about any player or coach and there will be people coming to their defense. It's no different with Ben.

You think it's any different when Tomlin is the subject?

Ben blaming himself after a loss is a tape loop but he does it at least. Can't say the same for the tape loop head coach...

A repeat of this year I agree. If the Steelers make some noise & contend next year I think he signs again.

Maybe we have different definitions of 'throwing under the bus'.
