I read on ESPN that Butler has one year left on his contract:(

Not sure about Smith, but MT has two years left:(:(

Sadly, I think this means Butler will be retained. If they were going to replace him, they probably would have done so before getting rid of Porter.

If this is what Tomlin means by making changes, it's something on the level of moving around the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Todd Bowles was fired so the staff may or may not be retained

Best thrash talker in NFL history. Although I am still pissed that he dropped a pick six in that AFCCG against the Cheats.

Fire Smith & Butler too. Hire Pagano as D.C. if he doesn't get a head coaching gig.

More than likely this opens the door to returning Butler to position coach to hire a new DC or have him leave of his own accord without having to make a hard choice.

Credit where credit is due.... if not for "Jerry" Porter we likely would have lost that Bengals game.

He signed a 3 year contract starting in 2015 season, I cant find anything on him getting an extension in that time frame

Agreed but sadly, that had nothing to do with coaching but his stupid behavior one upped by a stupid Bengals team. That would never work against the Patriots.

Crazy isn't it? You can fire assistants but for some reason in Steeler logic it's absolutely off-limits to fire the head guy.

Stop with the icons coming to perch the sidelines only to leave droppings. Continue to empty rinse and reload.

A couple points , some have already been touched...

The Steelers Org. Hasn't Fired a coach in 50 years ..... Let that sink in for a moment.

Porters contract was up so he wasn't fired.... Greene is still employeed with the Jets as of now.

Butler was hired Jan. 2015 to a 4 yr deal. He's been a DC in 15'..16'..17'..& 18.... His contract should also be up.... Yay!!!!!!!!!

Not sure about the other coaches contracts ....

Glad Porter is gone and let's pray for Greene!!!!

The Steeler's "Clue" tournament continues with all the classic dynamic parts - Mr Greene, the Butler, the Porter, "got axed", the hammer will fall, give him enough rope, in the Locker Room, at the Podium, in the Red Zone, the Prognosticator or all Prognostications - Col. Mustard and not sure how this guy got involved but....Popeye! :drinks:

I doubt Porter is the only change. Rapoport is reporting more to come as well.

Kaboly too but his is more a gut feeling than any inside information.

...was shouted down from the heavens in a booming Cecil B. Demille-esque voice. It commenced to rain frogs for 40 days and 40 nights. In the end, the DC went the way of BC. All was calm in Steeler Nation once again. With the obvious exception of the smattering of Anti-Tomlinites. Another epic battle for another distant day. And the People all said - Amen.
