I think Harrison is a butt hurt little bit**.. Of course I wouldn't say that to his face but I can't really hate him that much because he hates Tomlin and is doing everything he can to sabotage him into possibly getting fired so I can't be that mad

Everything I'm reading says we would create $21-22million of dead $ against us next year. Who ever is saying $6-7million is wrong. Then add in the fact that we'd be lucky to win 8 games.

It's hilarious how many people are willing to throw out the baby with the bathwater. Essentially you hate Brown so much you want to give in to his tantrum, give him a new start elsewhere, pay him his $, and screw the steelers for the foreseeable future. Someone please explain to me how this makes any sense? The last thing you want to do is encourage others to do what Brown and Bell are doing. We would basically be telling every player that if you don't like your situation in Pittsburgh...just walk out and we will give you what ever you want.

Brown is not the first player to have a meltdown and miss a game. He's one of the best WR's in the game and is vital to our chances of winning a SB. Granted with Tomlin as our HC there's zero chance of that anyway..so F IT. Trade him.

Tomlin has turned the steelers into a joke. It starts at the top folks. We are a reflection of Tomlin's personality.

I think some teams would surely use a first on AB.. especially being top 3 WR since he's been in the league..
Yeah Cowboys gave up one for Cooper.. but i would beat any money they wont win the SB this year..
Truthfully I don't see them getting past NO, LA or even Chi..

This thread isn't about trading Brown and the possibilities. It's about James Harrison poisoning this team.

You only do it if the draft picks in return are good enough. What happens if they keep him and his tantrums become too much of a problem? It just caused him to be suspended for the Bengals game. He won't help us from the sidelines. He'll also be 31 by the start of next season. Selling high isn't a bad idea.

The money they'll have on the books from Bell being gone would help offset AB's cap hit. Would be a shame to have to lose that cap space but keeping him around may be worse. The team is better when spreading the ball around, not force feeding AB to keep him happy. The offense was unstoppable in the Panthers game, Ben threw it to everyone, think one pass went to my mother.

    From Ed Bouchette:

Let’s look at the trade option. Contrary to popular belief, the Steelers would not necessarily take a huge hit on their salary cap if they traded Brown.

If he plays in 2019, his salary cap figure will be $22,165,000. If they trade him, his salary cap figure will be $21,120,000.

But there’s more than that. What isn’t being taken into account is his 2019 salary of $12,625,000 that won’t be paid and will be wiped from their cap, even though Brown’s individual cap figure will technically remain the same. Also, Brown is due a $2.5 million roster bonus five days after the new league season begins March 13.

That’s a real AND cap savings of more than $15 million in salary and bonus that won’t be paid or count if they trade him before March 18. (No trades are permitted before March 13, so they would have a five-day window to do so).

That brings his realistic salary cap hit down to $6 million if they trade him by then, although technically on the books it will be that $21 million-plus in “dead money.” Plus, it would eliminate him from the books forever after 2019.

We will see if they trade him. I doubt it tbh it would take imo AB holding out of all offseason activities and causing such a rift that it leaves no choice. Look at how long they let the bell situation play it when most teams wouldnt have tagged him again. The organization because its storied and respected shows pride in these type of situations.

So what is your solution? I understand what you are saying, but when is it going to be enough? Obviously AB is going to keep doing stuff like this whenever he wants.

"poisoning" this team? lol I think you are misdirecting your anger my friend. Harrison is just another example of what happens when there is no leadership. Harrison, Brown, Bell, who else basically said screw you to the steelers lately? At what point do you look at the head coach and make them accountable?

Cooper was 24. Ab is going to be 31 next season. And idk what they will do. I thought there was no way nick Foles was going to a superbowl and let alone win it.

I've been saying $7M when you factor in the cap relief they're due from Lev Bell's situation this year.

I've heard no one else say it, have you? All that I hear from all of the professional pundits is a $21M cap hit with no consideration to Bell's relief. I just need to know if Im nuts or not.

Yeah.. When a Decastro, Pouncey, Heath Miller, Villanueva, Hines Ward, Juju does it then I might actually look at the coach. Look at the characters you are siding with because of your hatred for Tomlin LOL

ABs been a problem since long before Harrison left. Ryan Clark talked about him knowing about it in 2012.

Harrison definitely has an ax to grind but I think his dislike for Tomlin goes back even further. Do you guys remember an interview with JH when he was asked about DL? He got emotional in his praise of him. When asked about Tomlin *crickets*, his answer left many wondering if he had a problem with him.

Fast forward to now, we know JH definitely has a problem with him, AB saying he has a problem with Tomlin, who else? I'm not condoning AB's actions, in fact I think they should move him but Tomlin is part of the problem. And I don't mean that if a player doesn't like a coach, he should be fired but you have to dig into why he's nit liked. If it's because they don't think he's good at putting the team in the best position to win, that needs to be looked at and addressed.

The solution is to fire Mike Tomlin and hire someone that will actually lead this team and get the players on the same page fighting for one goal. Since that's not going to happen all we can do is try to calm him down and get him back on the team and ready to play for 2019. After 2019 we can trade or cut him . That's the option given to us by the front office. If he refuses to play then let him rot like we did with Bell. The nice thing is he's under contract so Brown has no options...he needs to get his head out of his ass and play football if we wants out of Pittsburgh.

Guys do you hear something? Sounds like somebody in the background yelling in caps something about James Harrison?

I'm not so sure AB doesn't need professional help(seriously) maybe he can get a 2 for 1 deal with whoever else is throwing a 5 year olds tantrum about JH in the background.....

Of course he's been a problem, diva, etc but it's been contained. I see no coincidence in him finally blowing up and Bell doing what he did with Harrison around.
