Maybe not for your Chiefs, Patriots, or Saints fan base.

But talk to your Redskins, Browns, Dolphins, Bills, etc fans.

See what their take is on Tomlin/ Ben Roethlisberger.

I find it amusing that people generally really have no clue and don't appreciate what they have when they have it.

I know plenty of people that would be all over getting for example an even aging Ben Roethlisberger, and they generally mock Steeler fans for their lack of respect for them.

    Which I really can't blame.

Us Steeler fans really are spoiled ass rotten. Can't take an 8-6-1 season without losing our minds.

My holiday thoughts of the day.

I’ll never understand those who think it’s natural and appropriate to compare the Steelers to the Browns, Bills, etc.

The thing is , it’s not just Ben and Tomlin Duo , this Offense has other weapons , much more than almost any other team and we still can’t put up 30 + points consistently
So yeah , Put Ben and Tomlin on a Browns , Bills etc. team and see what they accomplish there .
Now imagine the team in place here in Pittsburgh and even back in the LB days being coached by Bill B or Coughlin or Parcells or any other disaplinary coach

I think the bigger issue is that we once had a really good defense. It was the reasons we won Super Bowls in 2005 and 2008, and a real reason we made an appearance in 2010.

Since about 2013 we have not been able to correct the defense. It went from one that would make almost all games competivitve and would make key changes in the game with a Turnover to one that, would be a bend but don't break and it's been that way for 5-6 years now with no improvement. Some of it's players, some of it's coaching but, we need to find that spark again. Steelers defense used to be a feared unit. Not so much any more.

The Steelers have alot higher expectations than those teams. You can’t even make that argument. With the talent we have,no reason it shouldn’t be us and NE in the AFCCG most of the time. Bens made dumb mistakes at critical times
and Tomlin has failed at game management almost on a weekly basis.

This team should be going to the playoffs. Sure, some of it is being spoiled, but the frustration is primarily due to the way this team has found ways to lose in games it should have won. It has been one ridiculous mistake after another. I don't understand the thinking of any Steelers fan who doesn't see this season as a disappointment, or at least any fan who won't see it that way if they don't somehow sneak into the playoffs.

Spoiled? Don't think that is a term for a group having high expectations. I think we are different and special in that we have a team that has been the most successful in modern NFL history with 6 rings. Other teams mentioned don't expect as much from their teams and for good reasons. Apples and oranges. Do you really think our expectations should be less demanding with the healthy team we've had this year?

Of course the season is a disappointment! (fishing analogy coming) It's a disappointment when you have the best equipment, perfect conditions, perfect weather, perfect cast and you miss the hook set when the record trout rises to your fly. You don't remedy it by dynamiting the river!

Hilarious. It's like saying Yankee fans shouldn't expect more from their team. We should be happy we're not the Nationals, Indians, Rays or Mets fans....

After years of mistakes that dic k is probably in bad shape. Trying to compare football to fishing which has a lot more random variables is futile.

Analogies aside, whenever this team loses, (and sometimes when they win) there are certain people who want the HC gone, the DC gone, the OC gone, the GM gone, QB is too old, kicker has to go...……….. This goes back to Cowhers tenure and beyond. Blowing things up and starting over has worked SO well in SD/LA/, Cleveland, JAX, Miami, etc. I can only think of two teams recently who have had the coach, coordinators, QB, AND calls mostly go their way. NE and Seattle. Ironically, they both have cheat in their nicknames.

Would you happen to be a Pens fan by chance? If so, are you upset they got rid of Dan Bylsma? Do you even remember who he is?

If you want to be serious about winning a championship you have to take risks and not just sit back and say well at least we're not like the browns, etc let's not change anything.

Since Im one of these certain people.........

I am NOT in favor of blowing everything up. I don't want the DC gone. The OC gone. The GM gone. And certainly not the QB gone.

I do want the HC gone. And this is after several years of defending him and thinking like you. I believe in staying the course and not overreacting. But this has gone on far too long and it's time to quit making excuses, Tomlin is a slightly above average HC who wins in spite of himself. His teams are consistently unprepared and underperform as a result. His mistakes are many and often times critical. I've seen enough. This team needs new leadership. He's not a bad guy, but this relationship has run its course. It is time for both parties to move on.

I, too, think it's time for a new head coach! It just gets tiring to see all the FIRE__________immediately threads. I just don't want them to get rid of Tomlin just to get rid of him. Have a QUALIFIED candidate in line first.

Well, the Broncos are already holding their breath, hoping for an MT firing.

Don't think it's going to happen, but I hope (as you are) that they already have someone in mind.

I think most of us want that. I don't want them to bring in any schlub to coach this team. But honestly I'm not even sure Art Rooney would do an exhaustive enough search.

The only things making ben look good these days are Brown and JuJu , without them he wouldve been gone years ago. They're the only reason the goats still have jobs.

Are you really worried they are going to get rid of him just for the sake of getting rid of him? And then what, get caught with their pants down and hire the waterboy?

He's been here 12 years, I think it's ok for fans to start calling for a coaching change. Some of you make it sound like we are trying to be the Browns. I expect if they did fire MT, that whomever they replace him with will likewise have a very long tenure.

That simply isn't true. For one thing, Smith-Schuster has only been around since the start of last season. I don't get how anybody could watch the game against the Saints and not realize that Roethlisberger still has plenty in the tank.
