For me every year, is the same:

    If Steelers win SB, ultimate!

No Steelers SB, but NE and Baltimore lose, disappointing but not catastrophic.

NE or Baltimore SB: complete and total disaster that leaves a bad taste throughout the off-season for months.

I am hoping for, but not expecting, a win in NO. We need a season best performance by Ben and an above average game by the D. Touchdowns and not missed FGs on 5-6 drives. We also need some good luck resulting in turnovers for our D. Yikes.

If you want a little hope, the Steelers needed the Houston Oilers to win last week of season for us to make playoffs. They did win, we made playoffs and went on to win the Super Bowl. Many moons ago.

You have to add Cowboys and 49ers to the list, no?

I also wish for Seattle and Green Bay to lose.

Just remember sometimes these types of posts dont age well. I should know I did not feel Steelers could ever beat NE.

Wrong!!!!! We are winning today, gonna be a challenge no doubt, but the majority of the players on this team tasted defeat last year at the hands of the Pats and Jagoffs. Don't get me wrong the Saints need this game to lock up home field so yes they will be on fire, the Steelers will show up and win.

If there is one thing I’ve learned over my life of watching the Steelers im convinced if they play well they can beat anyone, and when they play awful they can lose to anyone.

We have to win. No excuses. We lose, Tomlin needs to lose his job.

    I’m kidding... sort of.

So now we have another "absolute" final nail in the coffin thread only to screw up the most important word (could/couldn't) in a pedestrian 13 word post. Perhaps it was a Freudian slip and the OP is just sandbagging like the team most of us are rooting for. :lolol: There isn't a fan in Steeler Nation who isn't aware of the obvious situation going into today's game.

Regardless of anyone's feelings, instincts, insider knowledge or reactionary bunions, the only possible guarantees today are - if the Steelers score more points than Saints - they win. Fewer points - they lose. No human or AI is gifted enough to absolutely predict the future. Meanwhile, even a monkey generally achieves 50% in a true/false exam - so I suppose the benefit of the doubt can be freely offered in most cases. In the end though, does anyone really care who predicts what at this point? All it leads to are those who will be ingesting crow for dinner tonight and those who won't. :drinks:

Our chances of making the playoffs are slim to none and slim is Lamar . As a big Louisville fan my heart sank when the Ravens drafted him. I can assure you he will torment Steelers fans for years to come. I hate to be negative but I have watched this kid play football for 5 years now. He’s the real deal. Pittsburgh missed a huge opportunity by not drafting him to take over for Ben.

That makes no sense, they won the Jags at the end, so no they shouldn't have lost.

Lamar is the least of my worries, as a Steelers fan. He will end up like RGIII if he keeps running the ball that much, he's also not very accurate.

The Giants might provide a back door. If they beat Indy, and they look up for the game today, then we can get wildcard if Indy beats Tenn next week.

Yup. He's going to have to learn how to play QB before he's tormenting anyone. Yesterday is the first time he cracked 200 yards, barely.

150 yard passing games isn't going to cut it.
