Season comes down to beating the best team in football in their joint.

I guess the positive would be if we pull it off we could be going into the playoffs hot and confident.

Unfortunately nothing I have seen from this team over the last month gives me much hope we can win this game.

I'm going to reverse the trend, for once. I've been critical of the team since "the skid" (and early in the season, as well).... so...

You didn't think the NE win gives hope that we might actually be able to pull off a victory tomorrow? Or the fact that the 3-game joke of a losing streak we were in/dominating every game (minus the score) makes us have the inside track to a division title?

I know... hilarious... informative... very optimistic. Just trying to hold out hope that we found something last week.

Biggest thing I see is New Orleans on a 3 game playing like ass streak. All wins lol

Too be honest and I can’t believe I’m saying this but I don’t think NE is that good anymore. Tom is finally slowing down and Gronk is pretty much a shell of himself.

The only other scenario that gets the Steelers in if they lose tomorrow if they don’t win the division is they need the Colts to lose to the Giants tomorrow and then beat the Titans next week in Tennessee. If the Steelers win against the Bengals and finish 9-6-1 they would get in as the 6 seed. If the Colts don’t lose tomorrow they would need that game to end in a tie with the Titans next week. Not the position the Steelers wanted to put themselves in going into the these last two weeks. You lose to the Raiders though this is what happens and this is what you deserve to have happen.

Of course I’ll be rooting for our Steelers to win but I would not bet money on them

If we go 9-6-1 we don’t deserve anything. Not impressed. Look at that Baltimore D tonight. Steelers D couldn’t look like that vs a JV High School team.

Ravens O on the other hand sucks and I can’t see them going far in the playoffs

Bingo - nevermind the blown games against Cleveland, Denver and SD - but losing the Raiders is completely unacceptable. That alone should (and will) send the Steelers home and should send several guys to the unemployment line.

I had a feeling the Ravens would win tonight - took them getting points and made some easy money there.

I think the NE win saves Tomlin no matter what. Next year he could be on the hot seat but maybe Ben will retire after next year as well

I wonder if beating the cheatriots was our Super Bowl. Did they use all they had to beat them? Is there anything left? I’m not sure. They haven’t shown us anything to think they can win.

That's why all games are important even against the bottom feeders like Oakland, Denver.

Why - they're going to get the Chargers in their playoff game and it will be at home. Just beat them.

If they win that, they're getting KC - who they had beat in KC a few weeks ago.

Wouldn't shock me if they got to the AFC title game - and guess who they'd get? NE - because they're not losing at home to Indy-Ten winner and they own the Texans so the Patriots have a shot to get to the AFC title game vs either KC or Balt IMO.

Not to Tomlin, which is why it's time to move on from him.

I agree, Raider loss will certainly haunt us.

I’ll be honest, I’ve been jealous of Ravens D for many years. Their D never fell off after their greats retired, where as our did. They got big boys on their front 7 that play the way the Steelers used to play for many years...physical.

And as it turns out, they can draft and develop cornerbacks...something Steelers do not exceed in.

Yea you can’t be 7-2-1 after 10 games with nearly a 3 game lead in the division over the Ravens and miss the damn playoffs with as much talent as this team has. It’s inexcusable plain and simple. Art Rooney seriously has to consider making drastic changes if this indeed does happen which after tonight’s result with the Ravens and Chargers is now very possible.

Look at the Steeler performances on the road this year

Lost in Oakland and Denver. Should have lost at Jacksonville. Tied in Cleveland. Sprinted out to a big lead vs TB and held on. Won barely in Cincy. Won in Baltimore.

New Orleans is better than all those other teams combined.

Can't see them winning tomorrow unless Brees falls down the stairs at home tonight (and Taysom Hill probably could win the game).

The Saints lead the NFL in point difference by a wide margin.

A few folks predicted this would be the year the Steelers beat the Patriots, but then they miss the playoffs. They may have been kidding, but that's exactly where this is all headed.

At the moment, I'm frustrated with the Chargers for failing miserably on extra rest at home after scrapping their way to that win in Pittsburgh. Everything was lining up for Los Angeles tonight, including the return of Gordon, so of course they failed.

That said, the Steelers gave this season away when they played like crap in four consecutive games and lost three of them. The team that lit up the Panthers at its high point seems to be long gone. They bought a little hope last week, but it's not going to be enough and a huge chunk of the blame has to go to Tomlin. He didn't have this team ready to play for four consecutive games and he gave away the game in Oakland by sitting Roethlisberger most of that second half.

If we lose tomorrow, how do we get in as a WC? Hope Indy loses to the Giants, then they beat the Titans? Is that the only way we get in with a loss tomorrow? Yikes..

I can't see the Giants beating the Colts, especially without Beckham. The Steelers only real shot to get help is the Browns next week, but that seems very unlikely given how well the Ravens are playing.

The Steelers' chances of making the playoffs just went well below 50 percent tonight. They don't have much of a chance in New Orleans and the help they needed just isn't happening.

Indy's not losing to the Giants, even if they had Beckham - they got blanked by the Titans last week, and the Colts shutout the Cowboys that same day.

We can't rely on any help at all. We need to win out, or just get ready to watch the playoffs. Our own doing.

Need the proper coaching to develop players and we haven't been able to in the entire tenure of the current staff.

If (when) they lose tomorrow, the only way they can get in is:

    1. They must win or tie vs Cincy in week 17

If they win in week 17, they get in if

    1. Baltimore loses or ties vs Cleveland OR
    2. Indy loses to NYG in week 16, then beats or ties Tennessee in week 17

If they tie in week 17, they get in if

    1. Baltimore loses to Cleveland

    That's it.

Look, we just need to take care of our own business, like I know we can, and all this crap falls into place. We can beat any team anywhere if we prepare and execute to the level we are capable of. Tomorrows Saints game will be the ultimate test. If we win, great, I knew we had it in us. If we lose, we don't belong in the playoffs anyway. End of story. Now, on to NOLA for the win.

They turned the ball over 4 times, and Denver had zero turnovers, guess what you aren't going to win those games. They had a 23-7 lead over the Chargers, so they were ready to play, they failed to hold the lead in the second half.
