I'm clearly not saying I'm impressed with his stats. My whole point is they could of been doing a bit more to give him better opportunities than what they were giving him. Yesterday proved he can do other things other than go deep. Many times slants and curls are gimme throws if you want to make them. The D gives them away quite often.

They have given him opportunities, plenty. He's only been targeted over 20 yards 7 times and hasn't caught any of them.

I recall very few opportunities in the middle of the field. His TD actually came from being targeted in the middle of the field. I stand by my opinion that he could of been used much more frequently and with a higher percentage of success running slants, curls and crosses and some posts. The play that they designed last week for Hunter where he got hurt was a simple and well schemed play to get him open. Why not JW?
He may not be a world beater right now but IMO they are not helping his cause.

Edit: How many of his targets did he have a legitimate chance at catching the ball?

For the fans that wanted Dobbs to replace Ben, well you got your wish and he failed.

Well, he has 46 snaps in the slot and 351 wide. I'd wager not all 351 snaps were go routes. I don't know why you are assuming they are only giving him low percentage plays. Considering that he has only been targeted 27 times, I'd say the primary problem is he isn't getting open.

I don't see why pointing out his poor play is giving him flak, he has not played good football, it's a fact.

We're gonna have to agree to disagree. They could be doing more to scheme him open. They did it for Hunter.....
